Word here in Houston, was that they closed the camp grounds due to the rain threat. Any fact in that?

Sound like just a rumor. We camped there from Thursday and left tonight and people were still coming in.

Gets us guys in California inspired too!

  19. Like the HAMB DRAGS, TEXAS THAW, DAY OF THE DRAGS AND PISTONS AND PAINT, this gets better each year. The only down side is that we seem to be getting our "Friday Night On Congress" slammed by ots, rrs, bracket racers, etc. (some even trailered in) - more so this year than before.

Great batch of photos, Thanks for putting that together and sharing with us.

I think everyone's camera and phone fell in love with the Blue 36 three window, every photo I've seen of that car rocks and from every angle.

A sign of the great popularity of the Round Up, as happened at many old rod runs in the 70s-80s. The uninspired, unthinking, jealous crowds of Camaros, Chevelles, etc. etc., all wanting to share the limelight of a successful that they didn't get invited to appear in. Typical behaviour of folks who don't get it.

Great pics here to soften the blow though. Thanks.

Same thing happens at the Cruise night In Centralia Wa during Billetproof. You see fleets (clubs) of vehicles that don't qualify for billetproof headed in that direction about the time the show closes down including a number of them on trailers. One group that puts on a weekend long event near me has a closed loop cruise with the streets closed to anything except registered vehicles. It is the city big wigs putting on the event so they can do it. Makes it nice for the participants in the event though and that event is a 100% open event as long as you have the entry fee. probably the reason I haven't gone even to look in years.

No real job, trying to get DirtyHero.com off the ground and I just signed a contract with CarTech Books to write a book on building flatheads.

Unfortunately I've been asked not to post any more stuff from Dirty Hero on the HAMB.

Good job Dirty Hero crew. The Round Up is 'HOTRODISM' at it's finest.
