Thanks! Today I only had a few hours to work on the car. I have gig tonight and have to leave in time for that. But today the weather was great, so I started to take out the chassis to give it a wash. It was so extremely dirty from all grinding and stuff. Then tore it apart Put it up in the garage with the door open to the sun and masked the K-member New color here we go! Now I need to get going to that rockin' gig!
The brown paint got much lighter than what I had in mind, so I need to get new paint today. Losing 2 days of building the chassie now. Not good, but what can one do. Pics from the paint shop will come soon!
That sucks, but better doing it now insted of keep it and hate the color just to get it on the road. Hang in there...
Got to the paint shop today to try to get some new paint. The paint I got looked like milky chokolate and I wanted something very dark brown. I ended up mixing my own recipe. I will see how it will look on the car later this week.... The right side is what I got when I wanted some dark brown. Left side is my own recipe. 12 parts of deep black and one part of brown-red color. Here's some pics from the painter yesterday Back home, I had to tear off the rear and front axles again and do this one more time. And... brrr... today was cold, so I had to do it with the garage shut. Then open up to get rid of the spray and fumes. Nice with no mask... And here we go New dark brown color. Looks great at first glance. Back tomorrow and do some more work. I am holding back on the finish level, both on body and frame, so I went with a 80% gloss, not 100%. Hope it will be ok for starters. Never done it before. It's a hot rod, not a show rod.
My tub's all apart...Got to re-install the front crossmember. ('32 frame, 'A' front member) Your build with all the Gennie Ford parts rekindled my fire. Ready to clean everything for paint. Thanks for the inspiration!
J.B. after hearing you and the band do that song ,i wish my leg was long-enough to kick your azz from here in the good ole U.S.A. for painting without a mask, that shit will kill your lungs ,i know because every time i talk to my buddy sucking air(his lungs are shot) because he did the same thing a little touch up here and there will get ya .Now that i busted your balls i do love the car color ,build, and band good luck ==Jack

Thanks, Kenneth. It better be running then. I am hoping to have it visually ready at the Custom Car Show on Easter in two weeks, but I have some work left after that. Then it also needs registration which will take a little time too. But I am aiming to have it out and running by mid May. Here's todays work. Different stuff that need painting before assembling. Then I mounted the axles again and started to put things together. I don't think I will be hand cranking, but I like the old stuff... It won't be a period perfect car with every nut and bolt from Henry's factory, but some small things here and there is ok for me. Got this pic from the painter when I was almost done for the day. I really think the color was good. But it looks too nice now... hmm... wasn't prepared for that... Well, time to call it a day! Back at it tomorrow!
Tjena J.B. I dig your pretty rear cross member... Looks like a mege between a T or A center and 32 sides..? I'm gonna try something similar with a Model A spring... Awesome ride!..(Subscribed!) T
Hi! Thanks! It's a welded in T center on the original -32 crossmember. I need to get some real action done before the body and parts will be picked up from paint on Friday. Tomorrow is a 12 hour work day at my day job too.... damn... Here's tonights efforts. It was time for the engine and gearbox to marry the chassie And here's where I left the garage today. Have to do the rest of the exhaust system, paint some more small parts and go buy some bolts and nuts at the shop. Then I think it is ready for the body to come home.

Thanks, guys! The air compressor gave up at the paint shop last night, so we need to move the parts to another location to get it painted. Hopefully I just lose one day and get the parts for whole car on mid day Saturday. The pinstriper Blaster from Italy is here for a few weeks and we had this weekend booked for numbers and letters on the car. Well, we'll see how it works out. I don't like to give up on stuff... ever. So, I'll do my best and see where we end up. Some inspiration, please!
The parts got painted at another paint shop yesterday and I also went to pick up the body which was the only thing ready from paint But first I wanted to put some pieces of frame webbing around the holes for body mounting. But it was easier said than done... Anyway, now the body finally ended up on the chassis and I could roll it out Today I went to pick up all the rest of the parts Yummy! And here is where I think I will end the pics of the whole car before the car has been displayed on the big car show on Easter weekend. I will show some detail pics and then the ready car after Easter. Then I still have some stuff to do for a few weeks to get the car ready for the street. Tomorrow Blaster is coming to help me to age the paint a little bit and paint numbers and text... I am nervous!
