Great thread theme! There is a wide fuzzy line between a "mild custom" and a full custom... Like art, beauty & sanity, it's in the eye of the beholder. Some cars (like my '51 Plymouth) need all the help they can get, while others only need a lowering to magnify the factory's styling.

  4. Would my '36 be a mild custom or a full custom. I'd say somewhere in between. Top is chopped 2''.

It's truly a matter of opinion... Some say a major body change like a chopped top, along with the lowering, wheels, skirts and relocation of the spare tire & mount (nice touch by the way) make it a full custom. Just because the car was modified in a simple tasteful way doesn't make it mild. More like clean.
That is a really sweet lookin' '36!!!

I don't know what it is except perfect. That is a great 36!

In my opinion a chop, channel, or section immediately pushes a car out of the 'mild' custom genre.

So while I would not call that gorgeous '36 3w a 'mild custom', I would be happy to call it Mine.

That's really nice. There's a simpler side trim on one of the more modest '55 Plymouths that I like a little better, but that front end is really beautiful when it's cleaned up like that one. Good job, Virgil.

Edit: Oops, some other posts slipped in between. I'm talking about the '55 Plymouth hardtop at the bottom of the last page.
