Art & Inspiration The Mother Of all Dash/Gauge Threads!!!

Here's the dash I just finished for my T. It will slide over two pins attached to the cowl hoop, and float under a narrowed 28 A cowl, so the supports will sort of be exposed, as well as the wiring...(would be interested to see some shots of how you guys have wired up the backs of your dashes). The stainless perforated metal will give a spot for the fuse panel etc. The body can lift off like the old " Grasshopper " altered, and all the dash components can stay with the car.

About 3 with filling extra holes...about 5 if you want to count the time it took me to get the nerve to cut such a beautiful dash into several pieces..

 

Still working on it but you get the idea. Chopped up 1958 f100 dash in my 1930 Plymouth sedan

Thought you would have had lots more than that, I have almost a day in that aluminum thing, and it came in one piece.

Always thought the '51 LeSabre's 'gauges around the column' set-up was super spacey.

 

Dash in my '30 A coupe

 

This is the gauge panel that I made for my 28 Model A Roadster. Simple riveted aluminum with Autometer gauges.

 

One of my favorite threads! Great examples of an important part of any car or truck as this is really for you - the driver. Others view it, you see it.

Added unique dashes from a classic and some hot rods . . .

 

I just sell them. Chris at Grace & Co. designs and makes them here in North Carolina. Looks great!!!!!

ALL Aqua meter gauges 'cept the speedo which is a White truck 80 MPH.Speed boat steering wheel, '56 Chevy car steering column. The panel for the gauges was under a piece of steel drilled for microwave guide. Looks kinda engine turned/golf ball'esque..........

 

I fitted a '28 Chrysler instrument panel in the '32 dash panel on my '29 Model A cabriolet. I probably posted an earlier photo, but now the panel has been rebuilt and bezel NI plated. I got it all wired in a couple days ago and reinstalled it. When I get to paint, I will wood grain it and the switch panels.

 

I was at a swap meet in Red Deer and scored a 57 Imperial dash. Just couldn't pass it up. I'm planning on cutting it a bit and building a custom dash for my AD truck

do you weld them in? when putting a cut down bigger dash in a model a,i dont see how it can be made to boltin.just wondering if you guys are welding them in.if so it looks like itd be hard to get to the back to unbolt things.

im going to be putting a 53 customline dash in my coupe,has lots of things bolted on the back side,havnt started to cut it down just yet.probably start today.

That's one of the coolest clusters I've ever seen!

 

Mine is welded in, I made the original gas tank just a cover for access to my MC, Fuses, and back side of the dash wiring and such
