So.. I forgot to mention. Brian wanted his hood louvered.

    Rewind.

Well you might have noticed the last shots we took before it went to paint. The hood was NOT louvered. That is because, we didn't have a louver press... yet..

So we ordered the Mitler head, and Kail whipped up a louver press.

This is the layout, we had .001 time for making, punching, crating, shipping hood so this is all you get for pics. :D

So many things could have gone wrong, Tuki was eagerly waiting on the hood as he was at the time reaching final prime. But Press went together, Keith Punched the louvers, Kelly Crated it, UPS shipped it, Tuki painted it .. Done.

While waiting for Bodywork, we pulled Brians Motor, went over a few things, cleaned it up sanded it down and sprayed it in hi-temp Gold. Also Keith changed out his ignition for something more fitting.

Getting up to current Tuki was a man of his word and Danny once again "Hauled A.S.S." ... get it?

Body and parts showed up, and everything looked great. Pictured speak for them selves. And I will note that it looks fantastic in the sun. But you will have to wait to see that..

So Tuesday the 25th Brian Auderer comes in to see the paint in person, John and Kail are going over things with him, and Phil Cato who is redoing the top comes in. Now we have talked from the beginning that if we had time it would be cool to do the seats. We got to talking and things started escalating.

Car has to be ready in 9 days mind you, body was on the cart, parts are still in transit, engine on engine stand, and we decided... Lets do the seats, and Door panels.. and kick panels got this great diamond stich white design with metallic gold piping, man that would look good on the inside of the firewall also, and we have to make a back seat with the pattern, and a headliner and you know what would really top it off? Running boards in the white vinyl with that pattern... so Full interior and redo the top still.

Cato and Brent are on it.. they might be more excited then we are since I am getting a text every hour with test patterns then seat inserts then seat covers, then seats, then door panels.. well you get the point..

This is a really special car between a really tight group of pals. I was so happy to see Joe pass the car to Brian... and now I'm tickled to see you guys giving it some love.

50 years from now when people try to document the legacy of Texas/Louisiana hot rodding, this car will be a very big part of it. So many stories behind it...

  6. Excellent work! It is going to be amazing when completed.

So is the transmission a C4 or C5 Ford automatic? I noticed there is no clutch pedal and no pictures of a transmission unit. And the rearend is open drive late model with spring behind in original pics.

What you see is the clutch pedal, the brake pedal is off because we cant get both through the floor together. It has a T5 with an adapter.

Looks like a pretty mild paint job:rolleyes: by Tuki considering how Bucky's SS/HA turned out . Seriously, he has some major painting skills. The Cuda lived for a while in the storage side of Damon Detmer's (Detmer Metalshaping) shop last year while getting some love from Jason Line. I was working on Jim Jard's Bonneville car there as my shop at the house had no more room.

This car is going to be great(er). Hope you get it done for the Roundup.

This car really inspired me when Titus and I were working on my car. Can't wait to see it finished again.
