    Hahahaaaaa!

I don't know if I'm going to use it or not though Ric.
The ports are super small, and I'm not sure I wanna start whittling on a legit FoMoCo piece that is better off in a collector's hands to restore a
289 Cobra or a significant car,not my little grocery getter.
I really don't have enough cam or cylinder head to justify multiple carbs
    anyway.

    What do you think?

  5. Two plane intakes always seem to prefer carbs about 100 cfm bigger than you'd think. I believe its because of the small split plenum, and long runners. When we had the two Q-jet tunnel ram on our old 410 SBC, it drove around great.

It just looks sooooooo badass, doesn't it?

It's running ok with the single Holley on it now,so I almost hate to touch it,but I guess I'd rather regret something I DID do,rather than something I DIDNT do,right...?:D

Yep...I just purchased an old Crower straight stack injection system for my Chevy. I'm less than confident in my ability to tune it, but it looks so cool I had to try. That and some peer pressure to go for it.

Here is the style it is...originally available in 1966.

Try it, tune it... make the effort. If in the end you don't like it, change back to the single carb. Then it won't bug you or lose sleep over the "what ifs", and all it cost you is time, a few gaskets and the parts.

If it doesn't work out then you have a cool table top display for the living room.

We have a similar set up that came with a 62 Falcon street racer (That's hiding in the corner of the shop as a potential future project). I had a message typed up and ready to offer it to you then read you had bought one already ... Our unit is the same intake you have. It had dual 500s w 1" spacers on a hot 289. The guy who ran it in the 70's said it had low rpm issues with loading up and flooding but ran like nuts when the rpms started to climb. All heresay and speculation 30 years after the fact.

    Hi Dave,
Are you sure it's the same intake, cause Ford cast two different 289 2x4 intakes in the early sixties, and if yours is the other one I will definitely buy it,as it had slightly larger ports for the trans am series.
Can you post up a couple pictures for me when you get a chance?
    Thanks,

    Scott

If Alkydigger is hooking you up,you are in good hands.
Have a buddy with a blown,Hilborn injected sbc with all parts supplied by Alkydigger, and his setup seems to work real nice.
They're also going to be supplying all the bits and pieces to do a 4 port on my blown 420" Hemi setup for next years car. :D

We will have to run each other next year. My Vicky has fenders, but it runs in the Altered class because of the engine setback. My buddy Jeffery (strokedstang331) has a blown injected Hemi coupe too...He is always up for a run.

Panicking now....just found this on the floor under my motor.
Thought I had every last bit of water out of it in the fall....Apparently not.:(

What are the odds it didn't crack the block?

I feel like I'm going to puke.
If that block is cracked it's going to be a MAJOR setback.
I have another block, but I'd prefer to NOT add building another engine, plus the added R&R to my "to do" list.
    Fack.

This abnormal winter is to blame. I never had a problem just draining the water out of the radiator and whatever came out of the engine, but when you get temps in the Saxon zone it doesn't seem to matter.

  28. If it pushed the freeze plug out, then it relieved itself like its supposed to. If it'd stayed, I think it would be more likely cracked, you should be ok. Saying a little prayer for you & Suzy Stang now.

That's why they put those plugs in there... as stated, if it came out, it did it's job. My brother had the same thing happen 2 winters ago with a fox based 302 block. All good. Chances are you're ok but keep an eye on it.

    Good luck
