So the run was coming to an end. Lunch was eaten, stories had been told and now the rain was drizzling from the sky. So goodbyes were quickly said.
Tony, myself and my coupe headed off, with Billy being our flank man if we ran into anymore troubles ( and we did ).
But that is my brief story on a very longggggg and wondeful kind of day.

  4. Thanks again for being there Geoff. We know it's a hell of a long way to come.

And thanks for all the photos. Always good to see another person's perspective.

Aside from that......I'd LIKE to point though that if it wasn't for my inadequate directions nobody would have seen that single spinner in the forest! :)

Looks like a great time! Like the old rod runs we used to have here. No trophies, just driving, and fun.
Where's the customs? No leadsleds in Oz?????
Do I have to come down there and chop some Mercs?

  6. Thanks for taking the tie to post,I always enjoy seeing the coverage. HRP

  10. Thanks for the pics Geoff. Sounds like you had one of those days with the coupe. But that's half the fun with these jalopies, always an adventure to be had wherever you go and always testing your patience....

  11. A nice group of cars. Looks like a good run. Thanks to posting and sharing with us.

come along next year Al, not like you weren't invited!

Can't do it all Brett, But...

    It was, where were you?

I think you'd enjoy it Troy, one day...

Good to hear, would be good to have some interstate representation. And another 40 to break up all the A-34's

Again Geoff, it was an absolute pleasure to have Tony and yourself come along, made the event. Even troubles can feel like part of the adventure in a hot rod. You two looked like you were having fun which is all we want.

Thanks for the photos, as Wayne said, its great to see other's point of view of things.

As for the directions...well, I will get the quality control section on to it for next year road surfaces included in that.

    cheers Corey

  14. First one I've missed don't want to miss another.

Thanks for posting the photo's and for the write up Corey and Geoff.

  15. It's a pre-'41 model year run, so not many customs here under that banner. We have had a couple, but the preference is hot rods.

Well organised Corey, Wayne & Dave. It takes a lot of doing to set such a run up, so I'm sure all participants were grateful for your efforts.

Great Pics of the Rides and the Countryside looked Great also.

Only thing I picked up on was the shortage of 3W Coupes.... maybe I can help fix that situation in the future.

I had a great day. Thanks Corey, Wayne and Dave.
Really enjoyed catching up with a few of you guys.
I hit heavy thunderstorms on the way home on the Calder Alternate Hwy at Marong and west of Bendigo around to Woodvale. Sort of glad at the time that I left the roof on.
Rang Gerald to see if he got home OK and he said his young co-pilot "had a ball".
Thanks for posting the great coverage of the event.
    Looking forward to next year.
    Rocky.

Thanks Ron, Jason, I think you were wise to make that appointment. Rocky, see you next time. Bails, Hope to see you next time too! I have added some captions that might help make a bit more sense of it all. at least give some locations for people who might know the area a little. As our season draws to a close I'm looking forward to it starting all over again...Guess I will have to wait. I had fun sitting back in my car watching all the other cars, trying to sort out the map, take photos and remind Peddro that the roadster has 5 forward gears. It was all rewarded with a tasty snag at the BBQ grounds. All I needed was some good beer to wash it down ( not that muck Dave drinks :) )

Thanks fellas. Another great day with the right people and cars. Some notable absences but most of them have already posted their regrets on this thread. I got drenched heading down that mountain, but dried off by the time I got home.

Hey Peddro. My poster is not numbered. Is it worth lots of money?

    Didn't think so

I think there is one thing we forgot to mention.
A big big thanks should go to Martin's good lady for pitching in behind the counter on the coffee machine at the Red Door cafe.I think the guy cooking and running the show was a bit overwhelmed.

  30. Yes, it's like one of those rare stamp scenarios.

(It was actually a packing sheet.....to protect the numbered ones. I can save you a numbered one if you want.)
