    Will be posting pics once I get into it and start getting the stuff I want done. Pictures are from right before I bought it.

    This is my wife's '48. She is the second owner. The original owner installed a twin-ram hoist under the bed in 1961. My wife calls it her garden truck. It has hauled some big loads. She even let me use it to make a pencil delivery!

    I have forgotten how much I enjoy this thread! I had almost also forgotten that I own one of these beasts, a '55 first series 261 powerglide truck. See, about four years ago, Judy and I went up to see a friend about 80 miles north of here to look at a potential project he had for me to do. He also mentioned that he found a truck for me, and that I was going to buy it 'cause he remembered our talk from years ago about preferring '54-'55 first series trucks. Upon getting there, he announced that the truck was up the road, and that we should take his finished '54 to go and see it. When I said no, I didn't need the temptation, he spun around and handed the key to not me, but my girlfriend Judy... Lets just say we bought the truck! Problem is, I have just never had space for it down here. Looks like that may change this year!

    For the guys that have done a Jag front end under these trucks, What front wheels and tire are you running? Anybody ever do the Jag with a 235 or 261 still on board? I'm still up in the air over how I want to do this truck, but I'm sure the six is staying...

    Here's the 49 I built and had a couple of years but recently sold to a fellow in Greenwood, LA. I'll probably have another one someday. Just good old trucks.

    Not a '48-'54....it's a '55 first series. Here's how it's sitting awaiting me to get up off my arse and get her revived;

    Here is our contribution...this belongs to my son & I. We are building this '51 for his 1st hot rod. The plan is to have it on the road by the time he gets his driver's license. We just completed the chassis and are working on the cab corners and firewall now.

    On my truck I run 225/75-15 with a 15x6 steel wheel. And yes ran a 235 in a 48 Chevy Aero with a Jag front end.
