    Hey gang,

A couple of months ago, Harv117 p.m.ed me and had a great idea - How about starting a thread identifying who does louvers and where so that there aren't as many threads asking. Damned good idea! So, I promptly got busy and almost forgot completely about the idea... But he is right. If this flies well, maybe some of the other small business guys can put their heads together and come up with a list of services they do to. This is a bit more specific than the H.A.M.B.-O-Dex, and pretty easily searchable....So I'll start.

My company name is Hot Rod Central Louver co., and I'm in Phoenix, Az. I do 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" traditional hot rod style louvers in aluminum and steel. I do lots of work for folks outside of my area though, as I do ship all over the country daily. My phone number is 602 881 0175
I do offer other services locally through my shop, such as hot rod plumbing, wiring, repair and complete chassis construction.

There, that's the format that I'd like to see - now who else can add to the list?

Hi, DJ's Louver Service in Exeter, NH has been serving NE hot rodders since 1985. We bought a Good Time Louver's press kit back then as both of us thought it would be cool. We built the press and mounted it on a axle so we could move it around. We are strictly a hobby business, I was a manager at the local power plant and Dick was a heavy equipment operator. But we have done a lot of louvers through the years word of mouth. 603-772-1950 or 603-520-9931.

Back in the 60's n early 70s, I did all the layout and punching in Miami fl. at Tom Finely's Custom Automotive. There was a little too much funny stuff starting to happen around there and I left Tom n opened my own shop, lost track of Tom n his louver punch. So no help now on were to go in south fla. If I find out I'll post.

I'm in the DFW area. I do Pullmax louvers, not the stamped 3" kind. If you want louvers of different lengths, this is how you do it! I do work all over the country, so if it can be shipped, I can do it

As far as we know the only place in Austin that does louvers. New machine with Keith Tardel at the helm, we can punch em in just about anything you need! Usual flat with rounded ends or the cool full curve style.

I have been punching louvers at my shop for many years.
I do "old school" style in 3" and 4". By "old school" I mean the louvers have a radius on the
top unlike other louvers that are flat across the top. The "old school" louvers with their radiused top blend into the curves of hotrod panels.
I also do Pullmax louvers on my P9 Pullmax. I can do straight or curved louvers on the Pullmax.

Not really a shop, but rather a tip:

Many laundry washers and dryers, as well as other appliances, have louvers that you can weld into your project. My favorite is on the back cover of some Maytag Neptune washers. Model number MAH4000AWW Part number 22002092. They are punched into some pretty thick sheetmetal and it's painted instead of galvanized.

If you go to a scrap metal yard, you can purchase them for a few pennies per pound - they are almost free.
