As usual, thanks for the replies guys.
Troy, as I have said a few times in this thread; I seldom attend events these days. There a lot more people out there striping nowadays, many of them way better than I will ever be. So you may be better off getting someone else to do what you want done.
Yes Mitch the coupe looked great in the red and yellow. Is just different now and I still see it as looking great.
    Yup, same roadster Brant.
Gary, I thought you would be sick of seeing all my bent and twisted striping pieces. The very same stuff that comes from my bent and twisted mind.
Grant I am glad that this 'little' thread is inspirational for you.
Tom, you mean we should have some sought of agenda for the build of our 3W?
Gary Adcox, thank you for taking the time to read this epic thread. I have been to the US a couple of times. But have no immediate plans to return. However look for a bunch of Aussies at the roundup this year. They are a group of hardcore hot rod hoodlums known as the Vultures. They are all good people!

I was talking last evening to Tony and I told him I had just scored a bit of stuff from a friend who is moving house and needed to thin down what he had.
    Not much Ford stuff.
Neatest was the dropped axle ( new stuff ) etc. The '38 Willys hood and the Fordson tractor tank.

Hey Simon. It's probably been 10 years since I have been to Lake Gairdner.I think that I have got it out of my system. Had some great times there, as well as getting there and back.
Hi Jeff. Yeah this will be about the third year in a row that I will be in Port Fairy when the folk festival is on. We generally get an RDO on the Tuesday. So having 4 days makes it ideal to go and work on the 3W. Only this time I can visit my 3W as well. Also a friend from Perth and his wife will be dropping in to Rita and Tony's on the Saturday.
Tony if you are reading this tonight, see you in the morning.

Hey guys I have been down here in Port Fairy for 2 days and so far we haven't really done any serious work on The Last Grasp Special. However we have been doing various stuff, including deciding on what will be a significant change to the front of our 3W.
Today after the usual morning walk on the beach we will be starting to weld the roof. I will be here for most of tomorrow and hopefully we will get the welding pretty well completed then.
I have taken many images as usual, but I am not sure how to upload images from Tony's system, so you will have to wait until I get home. But I think some of the images showing the new direction for the front of our 3W may be very controversial. I think there will be the lovers and the haters of what we intend to do. Let's just say we are getting back to our original vision of the 3W as shown in the model, early on in this thread.

  13. lovers and haters need not be concerned, follow your heart and I'm sure it will be ace regardless to opinions.

If I was to take a guess I'm thinking you're going to be narrowing the front rails in, and running with no horns....:), touching on superbell status?

Appreciate the efforts to keep us up to date with your progress, encouraging to see.

Cheers, and thanks for the 'bigger' pics, appreciate that,

    Drewfus:)

  15. I'm pretty partial to the way the front is at the moment but whatever you do to it I'm sure it'll look awesome, you blokes know what you're doing.

Tony recently found this shot of a roadster taken in the early '60s.
Will do updates of what we got done over the weekend probably next week.

The roadster shot is just the way I think a real hot rod should look, absolutely love it, you Nailed it straight with this one Tone!!!! hey this is only mine opinion..

Thought I saw that pic in an old mag? If I can remember, hayzely, maybe Hot Summer nights article in August, 1959 Hop Up special open wheel addition..very very rare..
