I picked this up a couple months ago. It's in excellent condition and runs like a champ. The car has a fascinating story behind it and we are honored to have this in our garage. I am the 4th owner. My 10 year old son Justis and I will be spending summer in it. Not sure what I will be doing to it yet, but this thread is to document our journey as a family's first Model A.
Lower it, put it on some 35 wires and run it! If you keep the banger, Cling's makes a nice kit to put a V-8 trans behind it. Best thing I did to mine. Nice tudor.
All that cool metalshaping equipment... Just ask yourself "what would Littleman do?" The more that get turned into hot rods the more the originals will be worth at some point someone will be able to restore one for less than what it will be worth. At that point we should quit cutting them up but we are a long ways away from that.

dont get in a hurry to change it into a hot rod. drive it!! i drove the wheels off mine as a stock model a coupe! i had a blast. and even now thats its all converted to an early style traditional rod, somedays i wish i still had the little baby tail pipe and skinny tires. they are a great car stock, and are still put a smile on your fave like no other. hell i think i drove my car several thousand miles in the fall when i bought it. it was my daily driver. you couldnt pry me out of that thing!! enjoy! In the next 10-15 years we are going to see an influx of restored model A 's become available. Probably be more than any of us could imagine. I see no reason to save one from the dreaded clutches of a Hot Rodder.

Shane Please do not hot rod that car survivors are really hard to find especially as nice as that one. I got my first 29 sedan tudoor in 1959. It was destined to the jalopy race track which fortunately had gone to late models back then. No fenders, roll cage behind the driver, set up for a flathead and the rear was changed to hyd brakes. No fronts! No motor or trans. So it became my first car and hot rod. Lucky me! Got a lot of attention and had a lot of fun. Traded it for a stock 34 Ford 3 window coupe straight across. No engine or trans but all mechanical brakes so I had to REALLY start over in 1960.Your family will love it. Out of my collection of 34 cars I have kept 6 of them original!!! the rest even though some of them are TRUE muscle cars they are modified exactly the way we ALL did in the 60's. None of those cars are stock. If you drag races as much as I did then you'd understand. No one wanted an old stocker! Even if it was the 396 SS or the venerable 409 cars of which I have both. But the original A? You can always find one of those needing work at a fare price to hot rod. Hot rodding tears the wood in the car (holding it together) up. NICE CAR!!! Lucky you and family
How about letting him do what he wants to do with the car that he bought and payed his money for. I mean are you ok with me or anyone else here telling you what to do with your car? If so we will put a list together and you can build your car the way we say, and see how much fun that is for you..Get my point??
Just an update for you guys.....I have put almost 3,000 miles on "Edna" since the snow melted. Work, kids to school, grocery store and the endless Sunday cruise. I am truly in love with this car. It runs like a champ and generates smiles everywhere we go. My wife loves it, my son loves it.....it's part of the family.
let's see...................great hod rodding material, CHECK! Every concievable metal working tool, CHECK! The skill to use said tools, CHECK! Stock? I'll bet not for long! CHECK!!!!
