Very cool thread! I just found it, and had to check it out. I am picking up a chopped 50 project this weekend.
here's my '49-er.... still WIP but hopefully finished next year... not sure yet if i'm gonna use quarter window at the rear doors or change the rim in order to be able to use one piece glass. what do you think? PS: it's gonna run on a V10 viper when finished YEAH
Good luck, How about posting some better pictures of the current condition when you have time. Also be sure to keep us posted with the progress. Rear quarter glass, I prefer it to be one piece.. My 2cents Happy Trails, Mick
Tinwolfs project pics of his 1951 including top chop etc. It's really worth of looking the whole album! The birth of Lucille: http://public.fotki.com/TinWolf/my-.../1951-mercury/the-birth-of-lucille/page4.html
I always wondered if Wolf's Merc started off as a four door because of the vertical line in the primer on the quarters........i guess this explains it.
Well, I just spent the better part of my night studying all his pictures. The roll down rear windows are brilliant! I guess I have just added another thing to my to-do list.
Great picture thread - at least all the ones still there. My 50 Barn find, O'hooligan's Hottie" as it was known as when it was on the road in 65. A great thread... back to the top for a revival!
Got a 49 Merc about to be shipped from California to Finland (if there are no earthquakes or something like that preventing my dream becoming a reality). Will hopefully provide pics later.
Finally after being a member since 2012 I've figured out how to post. I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of Hambers at the Southwest Chicago H.A.M.B and Eggers last Saturday and they welcomed me into the breakfast club. I am hoping to become a regular and meeting the rest of you guys. I've had my Merc for 32 years now and its starting to show some wear and tear . Off to join Bad Bobs'Merc club when I figure out how to post the picture that's in the introduction post again.
Well I thought I knew what I was doing but I cant get my picture to post so back to the drawing board. I have the picture in the introduction page.
