Thanks Randy. I guess I will go for it as is. I almost made a shaft but with so many other things to do I just bought one.

Found some new info...I didn't think the input shafts varied that much. This info comes from part descriptions for replacement parts and is derived from overall length of the input shaft, so could be off by 1/16-1/8" (but unlikely).

There are several different T5 input shaft lengths:

    WC
    6.625" - 88-92 Camaro V8
    6.725" - 93-98 Isuzu Rodeo
    7.125" - 85-93 Mustang, 88-92 Camaro V6, 88-92 Isuzu Rodeo, SOME '93 S10
    7.4375" - 85-93 Mustang/T-Bird 2.3/SVO
    7.875" - 94-95 Mustang V8

    NWC
    6.625" - 82-87 Chevette, 83-87 Camaro V8, Camaro/Astrovan
    6.725" - 84 S10 (2.2L), 82-84 S10 (Isuzu engine)
    7.125" - 83-84 Mustang V8, SOME S10
    7.1875" - Jeep, 82-83 280ZX Turbo

I'll post this here just as a reminder for others. If you are using a clutch disc not meant for your flywheel, make sure it clears the hub. I had to relieve my Flathead flywheel and knock the rivets down a bit for clearance. At least I discovered it before assembly.

  4. When I did mine I went to the Speed Shop and bought some different Flywheel Bolts with a lower head. I did have to trim a little out of the center of the flywheel with a hand grinder. It's been running for 8 years now with no problems

  5. Hi guys I did the S-10 tail housing swap on my 90 mustang T 5 now the rubber trans mount off the mustang dont fit it is wider than the S-10 so I go to NAPA they got nothing on to the chevrolet dealer $138.00 plus tax and have to order it NOT going to happen ! My question is does any other rubber mount bolt to the S-10 tailshaft I dont care about the crossmember I have a welder going to fab a new one any way.

  6. I got two of them from my local speed shop / parts store. It was just a universal one I think also fits some auto trans also. I can't remember who makes them, it was only around $20-$30. I can take a picture of it if you need.

Here you go, I think the 1036 is the part number.

Does anyone have the bellhousing bolt pattern measurements for a Ford T-5?

I'm looking for something like the picture below but I need the dimensions on the front of the trans where it bolts to the bell.

I need the measurements for my Machinist so he can change the bolt pattern on my Y-Block bellhousing.

I have a PDF file with a front view of an adapter for Ford BP T5 to "who knows" wich bellhousing. You have all the dimensions from the center of the input shaft to each hole on it.

But don't know how to post a pdf, here ...

    Thank you for the information.

I hope my Machinist can work with the metric system.

Does anyone have this in inches just in case?

    Found it, thanks.

1 inch = 25,4 mm. You should be able to make the conversion.

Electronic to cable conversion on the T5.
    I bought a 94 T5 from a 3.8 V6 mustang. it has an electronic speedo drive.
There is a white plug in the end of the electronic sender. I pulled it and there is a standard cable speedo drive under the white cap. The electronic connection also drives the cruise control etc. If you need to correct for tires/rear ratio etc there are small gearboxes that can be had to do a mechanical correction.

Yes, I'm interested. I just received my first Hemming's Muscle Car mag last month, and I have T5 issues.
