Here's my '48 Plymouth Business Coupe all stock just been lowered with cut springs an blocks, luckily it came with an R10 overdrive so it cruises well.Plans for the future include raisin the front a little, fitting some skirts and adding a little period poke to the flat 6. Great photo thread, a lot of cool Mopars keep em coming.

I brought in this country about a year ago,it was imported in late 2011 by the previous owner after spending most of it's life in the San Francisco area.

    Thanks for the interest............ Simon.

I posted these in the "welcome" thread, but I suppose they should go here too. ;)

Here's some 1986 photos my '47 Plymouth club coupe. It's mechanically stock except for carb and exhaust. I bought this in 1984, in more or less "mild custom" condition with some bits like lowering blocks and chrome lakers, fog lights, skirts, visor, bumperettes etc.

Here she is all rusty from sitting 25 years.

That funny hood ornament is a skateboard I built. ;)

"Edith d' Plymouth" was built by Simon Flores of Visalia, Ca. from whom I bought it. The pinstriping was by Rubin and it's so sad to see it all rusting off. Unfortunately I drove this car to work every day for 5 years, and fumes from the manufacturing plant behind my office ruined the paint. I've always intended to re-do the whole car, but it's been sitting almost 25 years while life had other plans for my time & money.

I'll post up some more photos of the remaining striping etc when the weather clears a bit.

Yes, in fact that's exactly what brings me here.

I posted a lot of current pics in this thread:

BTW, cars don't rot as fast here as in Pennsylvania. She's still an easy overhaul if I want to keep it stock. I don't though...

  14. Strangely enough, that 4 door convertible hack doesn't look too bad. Did they build a top?

i dont have any more pictures of the convertible cause we sold that a while back, but it wasnt to bad except for it had some rust issues from sitting outside and when they originally cut the roof off in the 50s they didnt support the doors in the middle so they were very unstable and opened by themselves . but it would have been a cool custom just needed some work :D but sence i am only 17 years old with no job i dont really have the money or space to build 2 customs from the ground up lol XD so we sold the 41 desoto convertible

I like the grille on that DeSoto a lot compared to my '47 Plymouth's grille. I've always thought the style of the '47 grille was nice enough but the execution of it was cheap. Anyhow I've been trying to figure out how to do a more "DeSoto style" grille on my car.

I'd say your car is a custom judging by the chrome around the windows and the stainless trim on the rear fender.

    DeLuxe D24S Standard equipment included:
Upholstery in either broadcloth or deep pile fabric. "Full Floating Ride" with Optional Fluid Drive. Front floor mat was all rubber, no carpet.

    Custom D24C Standard equipment included:
Standard equipment included air foam front seat cushions, dual electric wipers, chrome bead around outside windows, stainless trim on rear fender, better interior trim. "Full Floating Ride" with Optional Fluid Drive. Front floor mat was all rubber, no carpet.

Oh, I finally found the rust...

The front floorboard extensions were pretty thin with nasty holes.
