A few pictures of mine. The 'Circuit Breaker" 55 Chevy is the blue one featured a few years back in R & C that was purchased by Mark Moriarty I believe. For what it's worth, from a newby such as myself I LOVE this thread, regardless of content. Thanks to all contributors..please keep it going!

Fair enough... I'll loosen up a little... However, fair warning (and none of this is aimed at you Mart):

I'm not gonna be loosening up so much that I allow shots from the late 1960's, 70's, and 80's.... And if I get anymore of the vintage porn stuff, name calling, and other crap that I've been deleting so much of, then I'm gonna start closing accounts.

Secondly, for those of you that registered on this forum just for this thread, you need to read these rules:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=831254

You are on the H.A.M.B. and these rules apply to you. Please respect that. As I said, I'll try loosening up a bit on this thread, but you need to realize that this thread is a "sidebar" more than anything else. I won't allow it to disrupt what this forum is here for - traditional hot rods and customs.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

P.S. Please get back to posting pictures rather than this back and forth crap... And have fun for goodness sakes.

Thank you moderator! I was concerned that this thread was going to self destruct. H.A.M.B. is a great resource. Please play by the rules.

When I was growing up in the fifties and on into the early sixties many of us in the U.K. considered America was the centre of the universe. This thread has shown why, please don't change it

What a wonderful thought, we appreciated it! But don't forget a lot of that was media hype and that perhaps the sensory overload of post-war TV, the re-tooling of nearly all manufacturing towards new appliances, homes and big cars with fins from weaponry, overly excited everyone's imaginations. And of course, the time lag that stretches out new fads from their impact (west to east, as in hot rods and skate-boarding). Even if this web site is pre-1964, some places in the world didn't "have" what we call 1964 for years after the actual date AD in words or images. Gary

  20. Personally, I LOVE this interpretation by 'Mart' in post # 89111 a few days ago:

" a representation of the world in which our beloved old cars and HotRods were used. the pics don't necessarily have to have one in them to represent the world in which they were built and enjoyed."

If we don't understand the period in which they were used...how can we understand the cars?

To me, without the history, the cars are just.......cars.

  24. Thanks guys. I was kind of thinking that's what it was but wasn't sure. I've been out there a few times but not for the last 10 or so years. Beautiful looking building!

OK. I will play by the rules! Here is the one car (out of maybe 50 that I have owned that I most regret selling) But life happens.
