Just an observation , but has anyone else noticed the lack of comments and reminiscences since the pruning started. I for one enjoyed learning about you guys and your fathers during the war ,(WW2, Korea and Viet Nam) ,planes that I couldn't identify (thanks Doc,) where the saying "The whole nine yards" came from , and seeing the eclectic mix of photos that made up this thread. I've just gone through 4 pages of pics in about the same time it has taken me to write this. As I said ,just an observation!!!!!!!

^^^ I agree too. Seem like we have lost more than several pages.

BUT-- Ryan's goal may be to weed out folks who shouldn't even be on this site. They just came upon this thread and joined up, but don't care about traditional cars at all.

I enjoyed checkin out vintage cleavage & boobage daily after reading up on various build threads, etc. ...... And sometimes the comments about trains, planes & automobiles--& attractive gals from days gone by-- were the best part.
Not the same,,,,,,,since we lost SouthUrn & a few others

Still there and remarkably unchanged, now Porsche of Beverly Hills. Building was originally built and used as horse stables.

^^^ Douglas C-54, the Military version of the DC-4. This one appears to be a VC-54, VIP transport. One of these became the first "Air Force One".
There is quite a few C-47s in the background (Military DC-3's).
I cant identify the 4 Star General, getting into the '46 Buick can anyone else?

    Doc.

It's a real shame what has happened to Vintage Shots ? The photos , all of them even the ones non automotive where something a lot of folks looked forward to seeing every day! I hope you consider reverting back to the old format soon.

.........And last, another Aussie creation. The Commonwealth Aircraft Corp. (CAC) CA-4 Woomera medium/dive bomber prototype. Designed by Sir Lawrence Wackett only two were ever built as the roll was filled by the DAP (Department of Aircraft Production) built Beaufighters.

This is the second aircraft with a re-designed tail, this was designated the CA-11.
Both of them had a unique defence system for the time, there were two remote controlled turrets one each in the rear of the engine nacelles. Each turret housed two .303cal machine guns and were controlled by the crew member in the rear seat of the cockpit.
Forward protection consisted of four .303cal guns fixed in the nose of the fuselage.

Might be Omar Bradley. Not sure. I think he had 4 stars by the end of WWII.
