WOW!!! It's been awhile since I've been here and WOW is about the only thing I can say. Corvettesander, your craftsmanship is second to none and some of your ideas are nothing short of brilliant!! Thanks for sharing it all with us! Absolutely amazing!
I don't know how he manages to work at the pace he does and still turn out the quality he does. Just amazing!
This build is amazing ! Geweldig topic, ik kijk hier ierdere dag naar de voortgang van je project. Greet, Johan
I was thinking the trim continued the art-deco look as well. Will tie in with the cab trim you have highlighted; very creative! Did you tig them, and if so, at what settings?
go ahead feel free dankje Johan (belair ook al bijna klaar ?) that was exactly what i was looking for and thank you all for the positive replay's
yes i did tig weld them i have set it at 100 amps as it is thick wall tubbing today i have made the trim piece for the driverside tig weld the 3 tubes together, rolled the front curve and welded tabs to it to bolt it to the frame and removed some side panels for polishing got first 3 polished and installed back on, and put on a fender temporary for the look
It looks amazing but, are you concerned about noise with all the steel panels in the cab? I guess it will help with the engine back behind the cab, but I think the sound would reflect quite a bit. Bill
FYI - An idea I saw on another COE is where that owner built a u-shaped bracket connected to the center swing arm studs and on that bracket, he installed a center mirror. Since you're moving so fast...here's a reminder: Don't forget to install the hoses from the windshield drain holes.
at the back of these panels i have put sound deadning material hopefully this would absorb most of it
Hope I caught you in time. The number one cause of accidents involving hauling cars is the ramp popping out of the groove and the car either falling or the ramp hits the car or worse. It even happens on vehicles being hauled by "professional" car haulers. It only takes once to ruin a lot of stuff. So I would suggest you make some sort of locking device to keep those ramps where you want them. I would hate to see anything happen to one of the most Awesome trucks being built today. Dan
Sander, did you know there are two different types of bottom window welt? There is a one piece and a two piece design...also different keepers, flat or round. If you don't have your kit yet, check to make sure you get a match to what you removed.
the groove is pretty deep and i will only winch a car on the ramp this way you can gently load and unload a car
You are a bad influence...tomorrow I rearrange the garage in the rental house so I can get back to work on mine.
tonight i have installed some small things vent doors and shifter cable yesterday i have put in the rear window and made a battery tray
