Where are the people that own this classic magazine . The auto market is in demand now . Bring this magazine back and people like me will pay for a subscription like I had in the late 80's . Interested if anyone out there knows ? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
My Dad used to buy me CARtoons mag all the time when I was a kid. Sure wished I would have kept them!
Aug. 1991 was the last issue I own every copy from first to last, with the iron-ons. Even had a cartoon I did printed. So Im a fan, and would subscribe if it came back.
Krass and Bernie are featured in Car Craft magazine every month. 4 page spread. CARtoons was awesome when I was a kid. Most of you guys don't support any print magazines, So it seems unrealistic to start anything new that is in print.
Never heard of it guess I'm to young I'm interested in seeing pics of it I'm assuming its cartoon drawings of cars is it like a comic book ? If anyone has an extra copy they want to send me let me know what you want for it
The family of the late artist Pete Millar still sell items. I see them at Famoso CHRR http://www.laffyerasphalt.com/ http://www.laffyerasphalt.com/2004-CHRR.html
Got any duplicates to sell or trade? That is the main reason I subscribe to Car Craft!! I am a huge fan of Car Toons! I wish someone would do a digital copy of all the issues.....kind of like what Pete Millar did with Drag Cartoons. Here is an older thread about Car toons... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6635&highlight=car+toons+magazine
That magazine was so awesome back in the day. Remember getting it at the local grocery store every month and the iron-ons were really cool. I miss it. Too bad mine went missing at some point. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I actually have a few .png images from the CARtoons iron-ons, as well as 30 years of CARtoons in .cbr format that came to my company as part of a marketing pitch. Nowadays you can buy 8.5 x 11 iron on transfers that you can print out from your computer and I've been laying 'em on clean Hanes BeefyT's. Anybody wants the files to make their own just message me with #1, 2 or 3 and I will gladly send them. I have negatives and positives for all of them, so you can do the reverse image on the backs of the shirts (i always liked that). #1 #2 #3
Big BIG fan of George Trosleys art, Have bought his books and art teaching books for my Nephew. Still have most of my original copys of CARToons and the Calanders and Ironons. http://www.georgetrosley.com/
Got the files Robert, thanks a bunch. Already have some extra transfer paper from my homemade Johnny Cash "One Finger Salute" t-shirt. Now all I need is a shirt, or maybe I have that too. Hmm, I'm stoked. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Trosley is a class act stand-up gentleman. He gave me some artwork years back to help promote my then website asking nothing in return. Think he still does that. Love his artwork and sense of humor. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I loved CARtoons. and was shocked when i found Trosley's cartoons in "another" magazine when i got older.
one of my fondest memory's will always be of the conversation I had with The TROZ about his work for that "other" mag.. my 40 had originally had a "Decopage" interior of old cartoons covers.. troz saw it at a show, and signed the front door panel.. which I have up in my shop
