Good to know, hadn't heard much about the Headsup or the club that runs it.

I'll get in on the wheelie contest but let's do the judging at about the 300 foot mark when we grab 3 gear right about the time I pass Johnnie Rotten.

  4. LOL, good one Quain!

I think I can hear Johnny grumblin all the way across Lake Michigan :D

  5. I am all for removing the lettering on modern slicks, however Goodyear says to use no chemicals on slicks....@600 buck-a-roos a set and 124 mph I yam skeptical....help?

  8. The little bit of brake cleaner it takes to get the lettering off won't hurt the tire it will be evaporated before it can do anything to the tire . They probably just say no chemicals because they want there name to be seen on the tire so they don't want people taking it off.

Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

  9. I will go with carb cleaner then! Thanks!

You can also get black tire paint if you don't want to use chemicals.

You don't soak the tire with the chemicals just put it on a rag and rub the letters off. We were tire testing the pro mod once with a tire other than one from the company that was sponsoring me so we had to remove the letters. We made about 10 passes .913 to .935 60 foot @ over 240 mph there was no problem where the chemical had been on the tire.

The Old Boy will be looking for a match race with someone running around mid to high 14's. It ran 14.70 last year with my brother driving. The Old Boy is always a little slower.:D

I'll let him know. Now if we can only get him to pay attention and not sleep at the tree...then you might have a race.
