In tribute to the Sochi Winter Olympics, I submit this ad for a slightly OT car that I have taped on my office wall. According to the small print: "Only addition: a skidplate underneath the car to further protect the oil pan".

Amen to that!! My 41 Pontiac fastback had the most comfortable seats (front and rear) of any car I have ever had. Just like sitting in a fine living room couch.

Welk did a commercial at the Windsor Ontario plant for the 1972 or '73 Satalites. I was an electrician at the plant at the time and worked with the crew to power up their lighting. They sent me a bottle of Canadian Club afterwards + I got a bit of overtime out of the deal - cool

 

We made the one on Rte 66 in Pontiac, IL a regular stop between Chicago and my grandparent's home in southern IL.

 

I dig all of the pictures of the vintage trolley cars. We have a historic streetcar line her in San Francisco, that runs restored vintage cars, from all over the world, and all eras.

Yup. That's the street that they run on. Many of those buildings are still there, including the big one at the end. That's the Ferry Building, right on The Bay. Behind it is open water.

Trivia...Ford, who made the first pick-up trucks, shipped them to dealers in crates that the new owners had to assemble using the crates as the beds of the trucks.
The new owners had to go to the dealers to get them, thus they had to "pick-up" the trucks.
And now you know the "rest of the story".

Not sure if it's true but sounds good.

Okay, the 1946 one has a couple good finds - a fenderless roadster at 1:13 and a bright red convertible with skirts and wide whites at 3:25 that looks like it could be an early custom, and a Model A Vicky or A-400 at 4:13 with white top, black body and red later model Kelsey-Hayes wheels. (Added: a chopped green '36 Ford convertible at 10:06.)

However, a swift kick in the rear to whoever thought it would be a good idea to load the damn film to YouTube at a lousy 240P setting!!!
