Im planning on using these bullet lights for the tail lights on the '29. The guy I bought them from did not know what they came off of so got them for cheap. Searching the internet i found out that they came off a 1940's Dodge Power Wagon. I found one red lense a year ago that works but have yet to find a mate. Recently at Turlock after scouring each booth I ran into an old Willy's guy that said the lense is off of an older Willy's truck and they are hard as hell to get. He said that no cast markings inside are common with this lense. Given the fact that these are hard to find does anyone have a suggestion of a glass lense to use. Seen plenty of plastic crap that may work but dont want that. The lense is 2 11/16" in diamiter and about 1 1/8" tall. A domed lense would be good but not necessary. Planning to put the lights about 8" to 12" below the belt line and back so the lense is is even with the rear panel.

You might try motorcycle swap meets too. I had a friend tell me that Willys, Indian and some others use the same glass lens.

  4. When I restored the Johnnie Zaro '40 Merc I used the clear lens and put a round piece of red plexiglass behind it and it worked fine.

Look up some of the older "SignalStat" (brand name) lenses; Those look a lot like some marker light lenses.

Adlake railroad lantern lenses are 2 3/4” They look real close. You could cut down a signal lens but it would be flat.

  12. I just went and checked the 1941 Plymouth lens I have, they are 2 & 5/16th diameter, otherwise look identical, same outside shape and internal ridges......dunno if this helps.....regards, andyd
