Like all the previous ones I have been to, GNRS 2014 did not disappoint. Here is the start of my photo coverage. As usual with all of my threads, it will take a while till it is all finished.

Thank you all very much. Needless to say, I am just getting started. I see the 1 star people have already found the thread and voted early- when the thread has just 4 pictures. A new record for earliness. Cracks me up. Anyway - back to pictures.

Just messing with you. Your shots are always top notch and I always look forward to your coverage. I know how much work and attention to detail is involved in getting the look you get and I appreciate the fact that you go to the troube. Thanks!

Thank you very much for that fine comment! It is people like you I do this for.

  23. I have to be honest normally I am not a fan of this style of "processed" (probably the wrong terminology) photography but your pictures of Wild Orchid and Bombshell Betty are just too cool to not like.

Thanks a lot 383deuce. I can't guaranty I have one of his 32, but I will check and if so move it up toward the front of the line.

Here is a really cool AMBR contender( I think) built by a team of high school students from Michigan. I have another shot of them getting the car ready which is a riot.

    Hey Dan,
What has been seen cannot be unseen.
In the past, I have not cared particularly for the blue orchid, but seeing it through your lens has changed my mind.

As always, you set the bar way high.
    Good job sir!
    Bill

    Hi Dan

First of all I'd like to say how much I enjoy your pictures. Would you be able to share some of the technical details of your shots?

Are you using Photomatix for the HDR and if so, do you have any "base settings" or do you start from scratch for each image?

I have been shooting lots of "industrial garbage" - old gas pumps, farm machinery etc. but can't seem to get "the look".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Sam

Thanks so much Bill (Willy_P) and Sam. Sam - I do use Photomatix when I do HDR, but I will PM you with more info.

The kids from Roseville High School, Roseville, Michigan - going over their car to make sure everything is perfect for the show. Most other cars had one or maybe two people preparing them. This is just a snapshot, but I had to include it.
