Every year GNRS has some killer featured display. This year it was "Century of Speed" celebrating 100 years of racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The collection on hand was nothing short of incredible. I was able to actually get some shots at the Thursday night racers' reception. You could barely get near them the rest of the weekend.

Take a peek. Tons more to see, just click HERE!

    Kirk,
What's the skinny on Bob Herda's 999 streamliner? Who restored it? Where is it on display? Etc.?

The Herda car is in a private collection. I don't think there is public access.

  11. Cool building, but hoped to see Challengers/Goldenrod/Spirit of America/Green Monster............

  12. I knew that I was going to enjoy all of the stuff in Building 9, and we wound up going back and checking it out twice. It was awesome. There was an excellent mix of current and past racecars, and like usual, the landspeed racers are always happy to talk about their cars. It's one of the last forms of racing where "regular" people can build a car and be competitive.

The "Save The Salt" folks had a incredible book about the history of Bonneville available for a $20 donation. A nice hardback book with high quality pages and photography. That book was worth every penny, and the proceeds go to a great cause.

It's in Dennis Varni's collection. He owns several important land speed cars. It's in San Jose, CA.
