    Car sounds amazing! What are you using for mufflers? I searched the whole thread and couldn't find any mention, other than Jesse ran stock mufflers.

    Thanks guy's.

    The stock mufflers are enormous and, can only fit by installing them at an angle under the car. With the headers/gate valve's taking up some of this room.

    I asked Jesse why he had these on his car. He said that it was against the law in California to have duals on your car. This changed in 1952. If the car was quiet the cops didn't give you a second look. He also said that when he would pull into a drive in everybody knew who it was. It still sounded badass ( we'll have to see about that). I asked him if they ran. He said yes (I think he was kidding).

    As I struggle to get this car over to the trim shop, I'm understanding the size of this project, It's starting to wear me down. I don't think I'll take anything like this on again.

    I want to have the garnish/vent windows done, a big job. I have wthe windshield glass cut, the gasket has to match perfectly.

    I feel your pain, tedious w/s, electrical, plumbing, molding, etc. details, it's a lot of car! The completed car should ease the pain. Lots of folks pulling for you (FWIW).

    Sounds fantastic!

    Thanks guy's. Your concern has great value. The dark side was repulsed by 10 hours of sleep. All is well.

    The back glass has to be dealt with before it goes to the trim shop. By looking at the old cut up gasket, the glass (plexiglass) turns out to be an 1/8 of an inch larger than the new opening.

    Looking good...aren't you worried about your inner structure not being attached where the C pillar and rear of the quarter window matches at the beltline? :( ???

    WHOOH, WHOOH, WHOOH, DROP THE ANCHOR.....STOP!!! I'm not aquainted enough with these cars to notice this MINOR detail. I've found some pics in this thread that helps me see this problem. Does this connector (gulp) weld to the inside of the outer panels or just to the inner structure pieces?

    It welds to the inner structure piece only, not to the outer (body) panel.
    If it connected to the outer panel, you'd end up with a wave in the body reflection if the inner structure ever got a big jolt (like a big guy flopping down in the back seat).

    There ya go, Jer! I have to say though that that's not a minor thing...it's a very important structural piece. Anyway, your Ford is looking great and I can't wait to see it finished :)

    Well, it's pretty frustrating trying to get things done in this weather. I DO think that the car will be at the trim shop next week.

    I prepped/shot the car with it backed onto the lift. This put the L side against the wall. I thought I had enough lites positioned to give me a good enough look at that side. After paint it eventually got turned around on that lift. When I got a good look at that side I realized there was a problem. The body work was not satisfactory and there wasn't coverage on the paint. This has been the struggle of these last weeks. Trying to get some warm (enough) temps to get this done.

    I don't want to send it to the trim shop with a lot of paint work yet to be done.

    No one can say you haven't put 110% into this build Jer. Having the desire to get it right and than doing what it takes until it is right might not always be the way some people work. You are the exception and it show's. Your getting there for sure bud!

    I was thinking of this build and you redoing the body work/paint on the one side as I was out cutting up and rewelding a panel on my custom project that 3 days ago I considered finished.( The panel. Not the project).
    Keep at it Jer as you are closing in on to getting it to the trim shop. And that will be a huge step forward.

    I CAN do more than one thing at a time. I might as well get the "booties" squared away. Jesse said that the wheels were black.

    I think I'm going to leave the car in 1200 grit and do the 3000 when it comes back from the trim shop. This will help with the curing process. I need to do a few underside things and get it off the lift. This means (of course) that these are goin' on tomorrow.

    Good call on holding off on the 3000 till after the trim shop Jer. IMHO.
    Can't wait to see it with the wheels painted and the new tires on.
