Hi everyone, the name's Sven, hailing from Antwerp/Belgium. I've been into aircooled vw's for the last 20 years because, at my driving age, they where the only car I could afford at the time. Having gone through almost every model (and some more then ones) I always knew however I would one day own American iron, and certainly no muscle car!!! A few months ago I finally made the step when I sold my last aircooled car I had ('64 bug) and bought me a very solid '55 Dodge coronet. Having been an avid reader, and photo browser, of this forum for what feels like ages, I know how she will look when I'm finished with her. Since this is something new for me I will try and get everything done myself, with a little help from my club buddy's. This is how I bought her...

I think that I'm looking at a 56 Dodge in these pictures unless someone has done some extensive body work in the rear fenders(the 55 did not have the fins). Anyhow welcome to the HAMB.
Engine wise I'm gonna keep it pretty stock. I still need to change the fuel lines, clean out the tank, redo the brake lines but that's pretty much everything needed to get it running o.k.! Body wise there are only 3/4 small patches which need attention, otherwise it's a nice survivor!!! Plans are to redesign the body trim, and ditching the one on the hood. Shaving of all the emblems, redesigning the rear lights (not really made up my mind yet about which model to use), redesigning the bumpers (back should hold the nr.plate) and defenitly fender skirts (if anybody got some????????). AND GETTING IT LOWER ON THE GROUND!!!! But I'm gonna take my time because I wanna do it right the first time, and finances are stretched since I'm redoing my entire house!
