I thought so.Ive never run one,but I hear they are incredibly tough.

Man there are going to be a TON of 4-speed cars running.

I was, but it didnt pan out, to costly . I figure if I'm gonna put that much money into parts breakage, i may as well be jammin gears while im destroying stuff.

 

Still waiting for your Southern call out to see that........I think it is even a Willy's coupe you called out.....hmmmmm....

At the Hot Rod Reunion when it was in Ohio there were a couple of groups, the Geezers and East coast Gassers and they ran their own program and all of the rest ran a quick 16 or something like that and didn't get to race the group guys. that's how I remember it anyhow. Do they do that at the Meltdown? I thought I saw where some groups were attending

 

Actually i called out a 55 chevy. Their is a willys coupe called pale rider also?

 

Okay it sounds like all these fast guys are having fun so who is running there lower 11 second ride this year??

There are several groups attending...but the cool part about the MD is that you can race all day long, Saturday there is a schedule and some Shootouts scheduled, and you are most certainly welcome to go talk to anyone and set up match races. But there is not hours upon hours of eliminations that don't allow you to race. It is Match Race madness....for 3 whole days!

Falfa- the flip flops are put away and I will be busy the next few days painting something on my trunk lid that you will get tired of seeing twice!

Falfa and I have the "west vs Great Lakes" started... Who's next?

 

Im working on a North VS South deal, keep your fingers crossed, this could be HUGE!

 

I think we need a Falcons vs Novas shootout!

 

I'm in! Also, if there's a Great Lakes vs. West, I'd be in the West group.

 

Just saw some pics in Hot Rod Deluxe from last years event , looks like a great time I'm sure going to be there .

 

Can we include early Fairlanes and M****angs in that Shootout...?
I think I'll be bringing a knife to a gunfight with my weak ass little motor,but it should be fun no matter what!

Yeah your coupe has little chunks of cars like mine in it's shit...!I've watched a ton of YouTube videos featuring your car yanking the front end and hauling ass down the track...

But the black car is just a driver to fill-in til my Model A is done.I'm still collecting parts to get the chassis together,but I've already got a B&M HydroStick,a 6-71,and some Mondello heads going on a 420" early Hemi....So I'm guessing next year your coupe will be the snack-ee,not the snack-er Brother...

I can't wait to see your car run though.It looks like a real savage on those YouTube videos!

Ha ha ha...ya you'll be wayyy outta my league with that set ip. I'll just get some good video of your tail lights! Lol. I'd have to upgrade and get rid of my model A frame and put some real suspension under it. Its too much fun like it is...not real fast but a whole lotta fun and fun is what i preach! The first yr i went to the hamb drags my face was hurting at the end of the day from smiling the entire day. Im really looking forward to this show.

I think that's the best thing about it:

Everybody is there to have a good time,for the love of the traditional cars,and to throw a wicked beating on some tires and clutches.

It's not a bunch of cut throat,takin' themselves way too seriously,wannabe John Forces turning a good time with a few hundred buddies into a chore,it's a gateway back to '65 and the way racing used to be,when every Sunday at the track was the greatest day of your life....only to be outdone by the following Sunday.

And thanks so much to Koop and the rest of the Meltdown guys that work their asses off to make sure we get to experience this spectacle!

I been busy all winter putting my "Spankawillyintheass" tune on the Rotten orange and you would be a perfect canadate to try it out on. Heck the way you cut lights, I dont know how you ever got around me, I must of run outta gas or somthing ??
Besides that, I need some Rotten Revenge from last year.......
Just put grade 8 bolts in the door hindges and you will be fine.........
