Yeah, that car would never be accepted or recognized at a major traditional hot rod show. I mean it wouldn't even get invited to something along the lines of the Revolution let alone be calendar worthy...

I reckon I can find a pic of this car at the Valla Park run this year, down near Coffs Harbour.

Just to be clear, I know iammarvin doesn't mean harm. The spare tire isn't his deal and it's not for everyone. I agree they look great without but there are 2-3 reasons why I chose to run one on mine. I take no offense to criticism, I welcome it.

First this car is "as is" and there is some less then stellar body work that was done long ago out back so the spare tire makes that a little less apparent. I do plan on redoing the car and addressing those things but not until my kids are a little older.

Second, I really wanted this car to look like a late 50's street coupe that was possibly shown at some shown and was a part of that cheesy car naming show points thing before they went to all out show cars that could be driven.

Third, I'm a sucker for Early Fords and the parts Henry Ford put there from the go. So this is where the spare tire was from the get go and I thought it was cool enough to leave it.

Amazing how alike yet different. Bought mine 25 years ago, loved it then, love it now. Mechanical brakes, 331 Caddy, 3 speed Ford trans. Mine has bad work done to it also, don't care. Had little pics in Street Rodder and Goodguys Gazette ( am I a gold chainer now? ). Your car is WAY nicer then mine. These are the scars of the monkey's ass removal. Not pretty... monkey ass in trunk. Calender materail......mine, of course.

  16. Hey iammarvin, it looks like there were some gremlins in the HAMB and the thumbnails aren't showing in some threads. Can you repost your images?

From where I'm sitting your rear looks like it's in really nice shape. Mine looks like they may have used play-doh to fill the rear dents. It's lumpy.

  25. Ha! Nuthin' wrong with that. I like that shade and I'll have to "steal" it for future color change requests on the Photoshop thread. Nice looking car.
