cool dude! ETA on how long that is going to take before you get your turn? Have you been working on anything else?

 

Can't....take.....the ......suspense......ack!

 

This is the time of the build that's going to drive you nuts...waiting for other people to do their thing...I hate waiting!

 

Thanks hemi v8. The guys at the body shop are two men down, so progress is slow.

The guys are very busy and my project isn't a priority at the moment. I hope that they'll have one or two new employees to speed things up next year.

I know the feeling.

So true. The positive side is that I've been able to do a few things around the house that has made the wife happy.

Nope. Going to see the guys tomorrow. Time for a good conversation.

 

Damn.....I've heard this story before:car just keeps collecting dust at the paintshop.

Body Shops can really slow down a project :-(

 

most of the time when the body shops slows down progres,,,,the owner was trying to be nice to them and say hey no hurry i dont need it tomorrow,,,it get pushed in the back corner,,or they get several quick money maker jobs,,,and same thing pushed in the corner,,, hope it turns out welll,,,

 

Just when your rolling along you can rest assured the body shop or trimmer will drag you down to a snails pace !!!

 

Body shops mostly...all the trimmers I've ever dealt with were in as much of a hurry to get the interior done (and get paid) as I was to get it back!

 

Went to the body shop today and only a little progress has been made. I did have a good talk to them and the work to be done will be done in two weeks, they promised........let's just be patient once more.

 

You will have it rolling by this summer then?

 

Rolling yes. Driving......not sure.

Must be hard to be relying on others for a change..
If you get it back, i'd love to come and take a look (why haven't i ever thought of that before??)

 

Finally got a few small parts, so that I can finish the chassis. The dropped spindles are in the front now, leveling out the car better. The clearance all around is just under 5 inches to the ground now, with the airbags fully deflated. Mounted the wheels and lowered it to the ground. Chassis work is done.(for now)

 

Having to rely on others is not my strongest point, just a pure necessity at times. Let's hope I get the body back soon before I start building something else. BTW, you're welcome to come by any time Perry.

 

C'mon Eric,dont give up now.How about installing the drivetrain next on the chassis?
I think that could make things go a bit faster,less crawling under the car when you'll get the body back on the chassis...

 

Sounds like a good idea, but you have thought this whole thing through so well, we know you must have a good plan.

Hi Eric, not sure if you have mentioned it before or not, but what have you got planned for the interior buddy, are you doing any custon metal work with in.

 

It would certainly be more logical to install the drivetrain first, but I'm waiting on a few small parts for the hydraulic clutch. Also, by having a removable tunnel, the engine and gearbox literally slide into position without any hassle. I also prefer to have the engine sitting in my garage rather than having it in the car while it's at the body shop for several weeks/months.

Makes absolute sense to me. If that jewel was mine it'd be in the living room under glass until the day came to install it.
