Judging from the three rivets above the cowl I'd say it's a Essex. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=856794&highlight=28+29+essex
Not a Buick No lower cowl vents and Hood reveals in the cowl top. Arched door tops too. This is a Buick
its a 28 essex. while it looks similar to the 29 Hudson, the door belt line is not the same. 1928 Essex below
Nope, belt line molding on this Hudson is completely different from the OP car. Now, look at the '28 Essex. Compare the belt line molding, especially as it moves from cowl to body
The ribs under the windshield frame are a giveaway, and a neat looking detail, too. It's a total oddball, but it's got potential to be something, if the price is right.
...Anybody notice the suicide doors??? (all four) Essex, all right. Sure would like to have been the guy that got away with those rare Essex frame rails!
You guys are sharp! thanks for pointing out my errors. I think we are all correct (except for the Buick guess) 1928 Hudson Essex Six Check out the rear doors? http://tenwheel.com/view/30747-1928_hudson_essex_six.html
Very cool, guys, I appreciate the help! I figured Hudson, but the Essex pics pretty much cement the answer to my question. Now, I have to go check it out in person this week. Thanks again! What's cool, is I have the cowl lamps and a couple of other small parts for a '28 Essex in my box of Hudson stuff!
I believe the Essex cars all have steel structured bodies, whereas the Hudsons were wood structured. The body shown looks to be steel structured. Note: The Buicks do not have four suicide doors and the hinges are not the long style as one the Hudson/Essex line.
