History Wanted!!! 1964/65 Ford Falcon A/FX Pics!

You can use Late 1966 mustang frame mounts and motor mounts. they are much stronger than the three piece mount. if you want to use long tube headers, i have used headman 88300 with no problems. I have the same setup as you other than the lakewood blow proof can. those headers will save you a bunch of money over the try-ys. by the way that a good looking car.

 

I have Doug's Tri-y's on my car. It is definitely tight with the McLeod bellhousing and manual shift linkages. You could always try a different header but unless you are trying to get tenths at the track, the Tri-y's will be fine.

As far as a hydraulic clutch, I went mechanical just cause it's simple, but have seen several successful hydraulic setups. I thought I read that Nhra didn't allow hydraulic in the rule book, but maybe I'm just making that up!

I have prothane motor mounts and they work great. I used a stock mustang frame side mount and the prothane motor mount

This is the motor mount that I am considering. It is from Total Control Products. They make it for the falcon. I will hold up to serious power and will transfer less vibration that a solid mount.

I will be calling you soon to get advice.

I used that mount on an all aluminum 427W in a 65 Falcon,worked great,allowed enough movement to get the engine aligned perfectly!They are not cheap,but are very nice! ROY.

Damn!!! Guess I better knock the dust off the old Falcon project and put in some serious hours this winter. Dale's Falcon is almost as far along as mine (considering he has an engine & trans he's way ahead). Looks like there will be a few more entries at CHRR next year.....Mike

Not a '64-65 ... A 427 Ford powered Falcon A/G car ... Englistown, NJ 1965. As I recall this car later was named Strange Brew. I don't recall who it was though ...

WOW....this is gonna' be wicked!!!

 

The front springs have setled a bit more with the weight of the big FE residing between the rails. Had to re-bump the front shackles, mocked up the seats for the new owner, steering, Saginaw box mount, etc. Then, over the last couple days, fabbed up the 1 7/8'ths x 36 inch headers. The best $89.95 I've ever spent on a car. Sometimes you just gotta look beyond the picture on the box::
