I hope that guy was done having kids, because if those tire chains ever came loose he'd be sorry...

Also, sidewalks were on the right side of the road and since nearly all roads then were fairly muddy/dirty most entered and exited from the right side of the car. Many cars into the early 30's had locks only on the outside passenger door (my 1928 Model A for instance), and none on the driver's side. You locked the driver's door from the inside and slid across the seat, exiting the passenger side to the sidewalk and locking the car from there (if you locked it at all back then.).

    I'm thinking "Sunset Boulevard".

  24. Interesting (at least to me) that the car on the left is NOT a Lincoln, but is a 1930 Cord.

I thought that as well. The L-29 was great looking, maybe they thought no one would notice :)

The Cord in the Lincoln ad is a curiosity. This particular 1929 Cord was shown several years ago at Meadowbrook where it won best in class I believe. It was an older restoration that has held up quite well. It was originally designed by Count Saknoffsky(?). One of the best looking coupes I have seen.

I cannot figure out even if the Lincoln ad is original from the 60s or something made since this particular Cord's restoration which would have been after the 60s I believe. Maybe it has been restored several times. A curiosity for sure.

Donbmw, when do we get to see the flight test pictures? If you are lucky enough to be
present we all would love to see some action shots. Thanks for the first set of bally bomber pix.
