Nope, these things sit sky high at factory ride height. Dropped 3 in. is where it should have been to begin with. I had dropped uprights up front and 3 in. lowering blocks in the back. I was planning on going with some 2 - 3 in. lowering springs in the front.

I noted that with 3 in. blocks in the back the driveshaft was really close to the tunnel, could have gotten another inch or two, maybe? I was going to go with 3 in. lowering leaf springs in the rear the block it up as much as I could withough modifying the tunnel.

    Have you seen this thread:

  10. I dropped mine about the hight of the bumpers.. 3 1/2-4 inches? When I got the car it had new springs and could have been confused for a 4x4!

I cut about 1 3/4 coils from the front and used 2 1/2 inch blocks (home-made) in the rear on a Camaro dif.. Then went "old school" with sand bags in the trunk! :D Extending the skirts to the bottom of the fenders is next on the 'to-do' list. That, along with the lake pipes should help to visually lower the car too.

Gotta love these late '40s early '50s G.M.s!

Lowered 3" all the way around. Lowered springs and shocks up front, and blocks in the rear from JAMCO. No tire rub (235/75R-15), but it takes bumps and dips pretty rough. If you order from JAMCO be prepared to wait about 3 to 6 months!

Cut the coils in half, took out two springs in the back. Did install some hydros cuz driveways are not very nice. 1387235566138.jpg 1387235646124.jpg

The skirts pictured in my previous post are fiberglass overlay type from Night Prowlers, but I am currently in the process of fabbing skirts of my own design out of steel.

2 inches in the front (cut coils) and 3 inches in the rear (blocks).
