History Are These Old Rod Pics HAMB Friendly?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Gatlinburg Photos. HRP

 

Hell yeah, more Gatlinburg pics. I've got a bunch from the 70s, too, need to learn how to post them.
Old pics of the swap meets make me cry. 5K would have bought a helluva nice car.
Traditional stuff was around, but didn't stand out in the crowd.

At first I thought that 2 DR was one I chopped back then but after looking at it blown up it is not. Still good stuff to look at! What else are we going to do when it is 12 degrees out? Like now.

 

PLEASE keep them coming. I did Gatlinburg all through the 70's and loved it. Love the cars of course.

Wow, just friggen WOW! The injected pontiac T bucket! the channeled nailhead roadster!! The full-fendered hemi powered '29!!!
A lot of cars in these shots were pretty high-profile cars at the time too. This PU really knocks me out, although I'd want to do something about those headlights...

 

3 things I have noticed..no tat's, everyone is skinny and no cell phones or looking at smart phones in the whole bunch.

Also noticed all the 70's diamond tuck interiors.

 

Tell you what, it might be off-topic but check out the black Chevy II with the chrome slots! Yummmmmm!


the background cars in some of these shots are better than the subject! How about the green bob-tail T in the background, and the coupe beside it! There are some real gems here!

This car was featured in PHR at the time, i have the issue.

 

November 1975 PHR..first car magazine I ever bought and still have the issue today..look at it every so often..it's like comfort food..less stressful time.

 

Cool. You are posting some GREAT cars here, and I see several that got ink at the time. Great stuff.

Whats really cool about this is how many of these cars are nose high, but totally 100% devoid of pretentious, bogus "gasser" crapola. No non-functional moon tanks, no bogus fake spindle-mount wheels, no grotesque, over the top, LOOK AT ME!!!! fenderwell headers, and above all, no fake bogus class designations. But hey, thats the way it was, and I was "coming of age" when these photos were taken. And thats the way it really was.

 

What year would the Peoria pics be from? My t bucket was in Peoria but I don't know what year, I love these pics please keep them coming!

Love this thread. I grew up going through my dad's Rod Action, R&C, and early Street Rodders that were full of this style.

The silver 3 window with the blue fading was the late John Vastine's from Cincinnati. Any chance you have any pictures of a heavily chopped Deuce Tudor with the name "Little Orange" on the back. It was my Dad's car at the time and him and John started Cincy Street Rods. Dad, John, and the blown Deuce sedan mentioned above all use to compete against each other back in the day.
