Looks like you have now avoided the "I have wheels just like that" statements. :p

Thanks Guys for the likes =)
Best thing is that you guys overseas might have the chance to see the car (and me ;) ) live next summer .
The roadtrip starts the 25th of July in the harbor of Brunswick, Georgia and ends in Los Angeles in the end of August.

Good idea to not drive through Phoenix this summer, Martin. Ha ha

Martin, do you have any pics showing the welding of the centres into the hoops? How did that part of the job go?

The cross America trip looks like it will be a blast!

Especially with the car being so distinctive due to the wheels.

    Mart.

Martin, you should make a small detour north for speed week if your going to be in the states anyways. That car would look sweet on the salt.

It feels like the heat could become a big issue on this trip as I dont have an a/c.
Maybe loads of water bottles will do it :)

Sorry no pic. I went to the guy next door and borrowed a huge MIG Alu Spool Gun welder.
First time I used a welder like that but it worked out fine.
I didnt used the Tig as I think it makes more heat and it could bend the hoops.

The tire guy put up the wheels without tires in the balancer machine and the wheels were really strait and fine .

Really good to see it done and looking so good (and the wheels look fantastic) - as always with the really special builds also the sadness that posts are coming to an end. I hope you have another build thread up your sleeve!?
Thanks for posting all the progress - very inspiring.

Fantastic effort, Martin: now you are mentally equipped to do it all again, with something different. Better to thrash the coupe for a while, though.

Thanks Hasty, this buildthread will come to an end during the spring after the paint and interior is done.
At the moment I have a tread were I help a friend with a 32 chassie
and my next own project is also a 32 roadster with a Brokewille body.
The plan is to start with it after the summer and a build thread about it would be fun :)
