9" ford question

Hey all, I have a Ford 9" with 28 spline axles with small lug pattern in my project. I want to put 5.5 lug axles in it, I have lots of old ford wheels and the fronts are 5.5. Do I need Bronco or f100-150 axles? they are 26" and 30.5" long from the drum face, bearing OD 3.150 plate 3.5 x 2.5. Please point me in the right direction. Thx, Tom

Lots of 9" rears out there, find one that has the wheel bolt pattern you want. Too many different axle configurations to mix and match pieces.

 

You can't have the axles drilled for a different bolt pattern since the have large holes (windows) in them... There is a guy on here who sell the jigs for redrilling different bolt patterns and he mentions it on his website also... just found him - rottonleonard

28 spline 9 inch axle flanges have too small a diameterto re-drill to 5 x 5 1/2 bolt pattern.
