I tried some today but the lace was too squishy. I need the crusty stuff. Ill post pics as soon as I have something good Hood Birds c.c.
I have to get some good lace, it has to be starched up good and then you can experiment with different approaches. The one time I did it was at work with some stuff off the bottom of a rag shirt. The last time didn't work because the lace was too squishy. Basically lots of pressure and a thin one ply cardboard under the metal so there's room for the metal to imprint. I'm going to keep at it, just have to finish barfing! I got the stomach flu from the kids. Yeesh! Let's all give it a a go with various equipment. Post pics if you try it. Hood Birds c.c.

Please explain to those of us who have never heard of this. What is a slip roll or slip rolling? What is lace? Are you talking about that stuff on the fringes of women's clothing?
Found this: A slip roller rolls sheet metal to form items like stove pipe. If a taper is needed then the material can be "slipped" to form it.
I believe the OP is putting lace fabric behind thin aluminum sheet and then running it under pressure through a slip roll to transfer the lace design into the aluminum. Stu
Yeah sorry guys, a slip roller is exactly like in the picture above. Only you don't have to curve it with the back roller, you just leave it down and set the front grabbing pair really really tight and then pull your stack up of commercial grade or 1100 series aluminum and lace like found on women's lingerie or grannies tablecloth right through and see what you got. I want to perfect this little trick so I can use it on my 54.

Tape your lace to a piece of metal and hit it with a couple coats of spray paint. When it dries it will be nice and crunchy stiff. I'm excited to see this Shit man Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
