Just added 3 more from fordbarn postings, #s 4945, 8295, and 9020, which brings us to the magic # of "32"!

 

Found another in Australia, B520A 9744, up to 33!

 

I looked for the tag on my 3W body this past weekend and found the rivets where the tag used to be but no tag...

Another with no tag, it was channeled in the late 50s early 60s now unchanneled so original sub frame long gone.

I've got one but no tag. Only driven a quarter mile at a time since 1958 until I drove it to breakfast Dec 12, 2012. Used to be flat towed everywhere.

I find it interesting that there are not any numbers higher than 13,000 yet. Where are they?

 

We've identified that the 3Ws had two sequences of body tag #s, the B520A original trunk cars and the B520B original rumble seat cars. Some have told us what their prefixes are but not all and I haven't put that on the list, but I could.

It's probably the case, since we have seen several late production 3Ws and the highest body number we've seen is 12660, that the B520A #s began with 1 and the B520B #s began with 1. I guess we'll know for sure if we run across an A and a B with the same number.

 

Or we could start an Urban myth that the other 10,000 were not sold and still exist in a warehouse in Detroit...The property owner would sell them but it wouldn't cover the back taxes so they will probably just get crushed.

By the way, Steve's is a B, Rumble, so that still holds true.

My car is in post 14........I just found the body tag. First part is hard to make out but the number at end is 4983. Another for the list. If ford made 23,000 or so of these 3 windows there should be at least a few thousand still out there.

my 32 3 window came from Nebraska --not one rust out it is now in Michigan original wood body #B520 A 9221 and it is a rumble sear car with no bottom trunk lip channel and a roll down rear window

 

To add to mine. It is a 'B' body, original trunk car no roll down window, hinges and a striker panel.

I know of 3 original bodys in my town. Do not know numbers.
