So how did the inspection go?

 

It worked out fine, passed without any problems so I got the title and licensplates two days ago.
Been out driving it a little longe now, I just have to swap out the steering box to another one with a better ratio, its like driving a tractor now. Otherwise it runs great.

Nearly 2600 pounds? Wow, I'd not thought it would have been that much.
What was the front/rear weights?

 

This pic show the weight as is without interior. I didnt know the car had more weight in the rear.

Wow, that's a great ratio. Almost even. It helps on these cars that the engine is behind the front axle and not on top of it like modern cars. Modern, like 55 Chevys, 68 Camaros, Mustangs, etc.

 

Just have to show you this one , meet my mate Charley Swordson on a swapmeet the other day.
He had this roadster done back in 1992 and have used it a lot during the years, he even had it over to CA once.

The wheels is still at the cnc guy and he seems to be busy with other stuff at the moment.

I changed the Steering box yesterday to a new one with 16/1 ratio from Flaming river, the old stock one had 20/1 .
Best improvement on the 32 so far, no more bus driving .

Now Im working on chopping the front window frame.

is that black primer your running or paint?

 

Everything has a gray epoxy coat and then a semi gloss paint.
Firewall , inside frame , inside body and underside floor will remain semi gloss black.
The body is supposed to get the same red as the rails.

 

Spend this saturday chopping the window frame.

Not much goin on with the car at the moment, It will go to the paint-shop in dec and I need to finish up my own wheels before the transport to the painter. Little stressed about it.

Fantastic car!!!!! just wondering what was the reason to chop windscreen frame through the middle and have to re weld, as opposed to dismantling the bottom rail and cutting excess off and reassembling.

 

Did the cut at the same place were the shop is made. Right or wrong but I did it that way to get the right angels on the sides

Welded the wheelcenters today and now Im on my way to the tire guy to get them tires mounted.
Im excited !!!
