If you use a 4.3 style 6 you can use small block stuff but you can still just use a drive snout from a 4-71 they make snouts in different lengths just need to measure and see what you need here is mine on my 4.3

  2. His doesn't look like a 4.3 it looks more like a 3.8 to me.

It is a late style 3.8 could have even been a supercharged one nothing wrong with them just parts availability sucks but hell you can make anything work I've built lots of custom blower setups I even built a custom serpentine drive for a motorcycle that had a sbc on it granted the manifold an blower was store bought but the drive had to be super short because of the lack of room I'm currently building a caddy flathead with a 4-71 lots of custom parts here

Funny, thats not quite how I remember it, the one thing that said drag car was that the bigger pulley went on the bottom, not on the top. Whether or not the case was polished didnt really have anything to do with it.

But then, I'm still stuck in sixties, just not up to date on all this new-fangled HAMB traditional stuff...

Hey powrshftr, I have heard that getting too close to the Artic Circle can seriously affect one's sense of humor, but it was damned funny.

^^Funny, I've looked at your avatar a hundred times, never noticed the blower before. Old eyes, small pic.

  12. I've been trying for a year to get the carbs under my hood like this !!
I even added 2" to the bottom of my car and best I can do is all of the rear carb and 1/2 of the front carb. Let alone the scoop and filters.

I have a early version of the typhoon manifold that is ultra low profile and came really close to having the front carb about 1/4" ( no filters or scoops) under the hood. However that manifold was so early it's for a Howard's chain drive. Switched to a reproduction cragar and That bumped me up over an inch back out of the hood. My oil pan is 4" off the ground and I really don't want to drop it any further.

    glempam--
    Interesting.
Do you have (any) info. on this blower?
Does it have standard GMC style bolt pattern?
Looks like it never had any inlet mounting threads machined.
    Any more photos.

I can't remember if it was Mooneyham, or Kuhl who made the water case

  27. Sitting at the dinner table........Have the new drive in shop.....Now the bashing will begin....... 4/71 rebuilt by Littlefield,Edel's,an original Weiand 2x4 adapter, and a Cragar intake for my HEMI.Carb spacing is close,so air cleaner/arrangement is another issue on the list. Wheeling and dealing got me this for- wait for it...............Zero/Zilch/Nada........Like as in FREEBEEEE! I know- I suck! Ha Ha! Just like a sidejob, but WAY COOLER!
