Ya he is heading out that way the week of the 12th he is gonna call and make sure Lee is in before he stops. I'm not sure if he is gonna stop on his way to Mertle beach or on his way back. I will post any and all pics and info he gets.

My wife and I stopped by H/M a couple of years ago while on vacation. Called ahead and they said to stop on by. THE nicest people you would ever want to meet. Bought a nice jacket, some t-shirts,decals and a couple of H/M license plates that Lee signed while we waited. Got to see some really cool cars and parts also.

Thats so cool Tommy....Lee seemed like a real neat old dude on the phone....He had a dry wit and sense of humour that had me cracking up most of the time I was on the phone with him.:)

Also heard from Curt Vogt.He is still searching his files for the front suspension information. Also talked to a buddy and local HAMBer last night at a cruise night, and he picked up a ton of old 427 SOHC service info from the dealership he wrenches at when they were going to throw it all in the dumpster...!

These cars were state of the art and hillbilly hot rod all at the same time when they were built.
Lots of rocket science from the worlds biggest automobile manufacturer, combined with some good old backyard engineering to get the job done.
I absolutely love these cars. Can't wait to get started fabricating parts.
I better start saving my nickels and dimes for Cammer parts though....that stuff ain't cheap...

If they don't do some kind of detailed article on the finished car I'm going to lose my mind.
Maybe I'll get my Grandmother to write them hate mail for the next six months. She digs that kind of thing...:D

Also have an Australian Falcon rhd steering box on the way thanks to a HAMBer's generosity.
This unit is a crucial piece of the puzzle when assembling an A/FX front suspension,as the steering box is moved to a location outboard of the drivers side frame rail for clearance.

It's kind of anticlimactic, but after getting tons of engineering dwgs for the front suspension,I can't post them on here due to the legalities of it,even 50 years after the cars were originally built.
I will say that the instructions from Dearborn were so detailed that they even gave dimensions for things like the thickness of the scuff plates for the hood pins.It was way over the top.
I guess when the worlds largest automobile manufacturer decided to go racing back in '65,they had the engineering manpower available to obsess over every little detail such as these.

So will you at least post lots and lots of pictures as you build for us?

And the spring brackets!? Can you at least reveal whether they were a one off part or something borrowed from another Ford product?

I will post a ton of pictures as I progress, but it's going to be a while before I can really dive into this one,as I work on the road 6 months of the year,so you will have to be pretty patient for updates.
As far as the parts involved:
It looks to me like Ford engineers had designed this setup for possible use in passenger cars, but never got it past the prototype stage as far as I can tell.I could be completely wrong though.
All the information I have relates to making each and every part from scratch.
