I believe that article was in Car Craft Nov 73. I know he still has a copy of that magazine!! More sweet pics. Thanks for posting them!
An oddball question: Way back in possibly 69?, i was at Indy at the nationals, and got to meet Kay Sissel. He asked me to come with him as he had to go check on a few of his buddys cars and say hello. He stopped at a black 62?, Chevy 2, and had a quick chat with the owner/driver, i think it was an H/GAS car back then. (Long time ago.) Anyway, after he told me that Chevy2 guy ran a Ford 300 inline, PLUS a 292 chev engine in that same car, (mounts were set up to switch it quickly). I may be wrong, but i'm sure he told me one engine was to qualify for ET, the other for MPH. Is anyone knowlegable about this car???????? Thanks much.
Here's the third (and final) form the Flyin' Brick's taken, a side engine layout ala "Midnite Oil Special". (see the signature link for build/mod pics) The resto of the original inspiration (yeah, I know it's a banger ). And here're a bunch of us left coast HAMBster herders at Eagle Field, all sixes (except for the Poncho flat eight ) so far.
last combo was 292, crane towing cam, 16 lbs boost.....(stock engine) 6.80 @101 in 1/8 but on average would run 11.00 never finished tuning before it broke.....shifted at 4800 rpm 3.50 gear set
naturally aspirated 11.40 @120 296 inch .......11.55@117 258 inch engine...home built head ..no lumps.....learned that lesson early on
