Vintage shots from days gone by!

I suspect the Thunderbird pulling the Airstream trailer might be a 1964 model "Sports Roadster" that was available as a dealer install. Can't explain the missing fender skirts unless the owner didn't want them installed or just removed them?

This is two pix stitched together (scanned from a magazine over two pages?) and stitched into a single image...and not very well done!

Yes, I did see your purple bird. I thought it helpful to see there is not any difference between both rear lengths. Darker colors can make objects appear smaller, of course. That's why Orson Welles always wore black during his latter years!

 

That could very well be why it might appear longer. Good thought! The photo (itself) has not been stretched horizontally. Otherwise the wheels would appear oval not round. A photo spanning 2 pages will bleed off the edge of the paper in the gutter (center spread), leaving extra image to work with if it is cut out of a publication. (cannot say whether it was cut out or just scanned) Still, it does not appear obviously longer to me.

 

I thought fender skirts were optional. If a Sports Roadster, the rear seats would have tonneau cover over them.

 

And rope rear main seals that dripped oil. Has to be LA judging from the smog.
