Brian Gillespie's wreck at El Mirage on Nov. 10 makes the late news in Alberta, Canada on November 21. Must have been a slow on the news desk. Fortunately he is OK and planning to get back on the track.

I saw a story about that crash on the local news here in Phoenix last night as well.

 

Brian is all over the place, the footage is amazing. Normally SCTA tries to keep accidents quiet to keep a good image about land speed racing not being a wild and crazy sport. But with how Brian survived the crash with minimal injuries, SCTA is taking what happeded to show how the safety requirements: roll cage construction, up to date belts, up to date fire suppression, up to date helmets, sfi requirements on fire suit, and the expensive head and neck reatraint all do work and save lives.
