Yesterday Maggie and I drove the 330 mile round trip to Milwaukee, actually Delafield to celebrate the open house of MIDWEST FABRICATORS with Bob Bleed and Jeff Peterson. Drove through about a dozen rain storms and arrived at about 4:30 pm to see a whole bunch of hot rods and customs parked at the shop on State Hwy 18 about 3 miles west of the junction of 18 and 83.

Weather was rather chilly and they had 3 Bum Barrels with nice fires going in each, beer (PBR of course) was provided as well as a guy with a little taco stand, they were out of this world.

Where's the Beef???? It's outside at the taco stand ya dummy.

I have had this sign hanging in my shop for years and though that it was an appropriate gift seeing as Bleed has always emphasized the word DANGER.

We didn't spend the night as too much shit to do in the shop. The drive home was uneventful and took 3 hours, us old folks were home by 9:30

Thanks guys for a great time, I'm sure you guys will kick ass in the new business.

  2. That's my old stomping ground ( Grew up in Pewaukee ) so I'll have to get over there and see Bob.

Bob and Jeff......great to have you in the neighborhood ! Really nice to have a "famous" hot rod shop just a couple of miles down the road from my house in the Town of Delafield. Nice to have a "go-to" source if I can ever get my wife's car out of the garage and haul my 28 Ford roadster project in.
I really enjoyed looking at all the projects and all the wall to wall hot rod goodies just waiting for a traditional project. Sure seemed like you had a great bunch of folks having a great time.......even with the cold and rain. Also some really nice got driven to the event in spite of the rain and cold.
Again, great to have you in the neighborhood and hope you are swamped with new, profitable projects in the months to come.

Thanks for the pics. I really was hoping to go but had some local plans that did not let me go.

So I'm waiting my turn by the little blue house, and out walks Bob K. I half expected it to be some portal to Alaska, or maybe Antigo, but being I had to pee, I guess I'm glad it was a regular old outhouse. Nice talking to you and the Mrs......:D
