More Norb Locke, from Oswego, think this is Gabby Bleeker racing John Forstka in the Fiat.

The "Fugitive" -- believe this is Chuck Hepler from Champaign, IL, also at Oswego:

One more from Norb's site, it has lots of great pictures of Norb's twin flathead, and from his trip to Bakersfield 65, visit it at:

Here is one of the few shots I have seen of the Greek's twin Chrysler:

The dual Christmas tree pic is indeed Dragway 42. The strip on the left was dedicated to street tire cars and the one on the right for slicks. Not like the stupid 4 cars running at the same time that we see today !

I actually met Curt Hamilton for the first time at the Double Tree at the 2013 CHRR. He built the body for the Mr C car We just restored. Turns out the company was sold to Tex Collins over a period of time and was fianlly paid off in 1967. Did a great job on it.

  14. I love this thread. This was a magic time for drag racing. Cars were still being garage built, innovation was still the word of the day.

The 4 car wide running we see today is a tribute to the earliest drag racing, which would frequently be the case on the dry lakes where it all started. And if you haven't witnessed it in person, you should. It's an awesome show.

Just got these from Les Madus of the MG at the New England Hot Rod Reunion.
The weekend was dedicated to Nitro Racer Bobby Lagana Sr who passed away a few days earlier.

Not entirely sure, but think that this is NoCal's Bill Dunlap, in his Fuller car

I'm still here, just been busy with other stuff lately. I have a HUGE load of pictures that I still have to get cropped & sized. I'll get to it sometime soon and I promise no disappointments or double your money back. ;) :D
