I've always wanted a '57 Montclair and after chasing this one for two and a half years I finally closed the deal on July 4th, I know I go through a lot of cars but I'm thinking I'll hang on to this one for a while.

It's lowered with new springs all the way around, Granada disc brake conversion, the 312 was rebuild a few thousand miles ago. The body is very solid, Smitty mufflers and cruiser skirts.

The guy I got it from had a four door parts car he let me strip anything I wanted from so I have replacements for everything that's rough.

I put some new wide whites on it and made some cool hub caps from some '59 Mercury caps and some 3" bullets. Found some Offy valve covers and a Fenton tri-power.

Nice machine and something good to start with.

Had a 58 Monterey back in 68. Except for the headlights and a few interior details, about the same as your car.

Coupla years before that I spotted a 57 Turnpike Cruiser 2-dr hdtp in Peoria. 'course, a young kid doesn't have $500.....

That car looks a million times better with the wide whites!!!! I love the stance.. How much lower is that than stock.. Does the memory seat work? PM me if you have any extra parts. I am picking up the 57 TPC in my avatar next spring...

Looks like about 2" in the front and 3" in the rear, yes the memory seat works perfectly. I have a few extras including a four barrel intake, PM me what you need.

Would love to see that car in person.. Does the tri-power have progressive linkage? It looks great, a major improvement.

Yes, the secondaries start to open at about 1/4 throttle on the primary.

You said the guy has a parts car, go back and get the engine. 312's are hard to find. Ton of 292's out there. Also, and power steering parts on the parts car? Your car is killer, this geezer loves it.

    Nice '57!

Rare to see a Montclair fitted with the memory seat, as most found their way to the Turnpike Cruisers.

Looks great! I am eyeballing one in Texas right now. It needs pretty much everything, but the body is solid and the original interior is decent. Keep posting updates, please!

I love those Merc's! I learned to drive in my folk's '57 Monterey. Lavender and white with cruiser skirts, great looking ride in the '50's! Even better now!

    Cool car!!

I remember looking at a Mercury about like that some 35 to 40 years ago in SW Minnesota. I thought it was cool then and wished I would have saved it. I'd drive the wheels off one like that now!
