    ^^^ shit those are COOL!!!

  2. Thanks.
Execpt they are a bit small so itd ve hard for distracted drivers to see em.

  3. Am I the only one that does several little things at once?
I got tired of messing with tailights and started to mock some stake pocket extensions then I went to make a wood buck for the battery cover/step.
    This is my practice piiece 1383264437387.jpg 1383264447485.jpg 1383264466598.jpg 1383264477184.jpg 1383264477184.jpg 1383264491092.jpg
Stupid murphy was hanging around when I hammered the flange on my sheet metal on the wood buck because I hammered the flange backwards or upsidedown.
Not bad for a practice piece I might even run it like that.

  4. nice work on the box. Good idea to take a break from the lights, let your sub conscious work on the solution.......

  5. Thanks man.

I took some time to narrow the bumper and make a rusty valance and played aoround with the lights.

Okay I'm in. Love what you got going on. My small idea on rear is the bullet light mounted on valence with the exhaust thru the bumper. May need more jack to decide.:confused:

  9. I have a picture
    of the front ones.
I will take a pic of the rear ones tomorrow.
These will go on my front fenders.

    Why thank you.

    Thanks man.
Some one else mentioned that earlier in this thread but im not sure what I will do.
I'll most likely leave em bullets with no lights or exhaust.

your rear bumper is lookin real good Seth. I did one similar a few years back with a 58 Chev rear bumper narrowed, ends chopped off and those 57 Chev front over-rider thingys I mentioned earlier and it really worked out cool. It was easy to mount too ,used the 58 bumper irons .
    Keep up the good work..!!

  11. Thanks man.
Have you got a picture buy by chance?

  12. Love the bumper Seth !

  13. I like those signals!!!!!!!!!! I've got a couple sets of round ones with the arrows, but theses are cooler. Being all metal, put as much light in them as you can, so they are noticeable. (I would try to stuff 2-1157s in them)

  14. Looks good man!
Just another suggestion, if I may,
Come up with a way to set the valance panel a little forward of the stake pocket edge.
    Just a thought

  16. Thanks man.
Didnt u pick up a GMC bumper?

As much as I hate LEDS, I will have to use some insede old stock lenses tho.
I would rather not get hit.

    Hey man thanks.
Can u explain in layman's terms?
    Thanks.

Hey I dont mind Polaroids ,VHS or 8 tracks.

  17. Sorry man, I should wait till it's final mounted before
    making a judgement.
It is obviously just sitting in place right now.

    Perfect width on the bumper!

  18. Any tips on making it look better?
Right now it looks like crap.
Im tempted to get a metal shop cut and bend the edges on a new panel

  19. If you could bent the side edges 90 degrees to fit on the inner
edge of the stake pocket structure, that would be tidy.
Also a 90 bend on the bottom edge would ad to the strength as well.
It kind of has a sitting on top appearance right now, doesn't look finished.
    But I realize it's not.

I have two things I would do. Extended the valence behind the bumper. Pull the bumper back tight to it. The biggest is I would trim and mold the bullets in nice and tight on the bumper. Somewhere I have pictures of one I did that was similar. It will really clean up the look.

  21. I can only bend 1/2 of the sides because of the bed frame is there.

u kinda see it here before I extended the side pockets.
The bottom has a 1" bend already.
I guess I need to fully weld it.
    Maybe that will do it.
    Thanks K.

I can lower the valance thingy to go behind the bumper but I kinda didnt like that.
    I will try again.
The bumper only has a 3/8 of clearance on the pocket sides so its as close as it can be.
And I hear you on the bullet trimming..I really dont look forward on welding little pieces of metal and the painstaking grinding that comes with it.
Please share pics if u can.
    Thanks.

Could cut the center out and fab a cool center with the tail lights and license plate in there. I can see it in my head. If I could draw I would show you what I'm thinking. It would be so cool and trick.

Good job. I think the rear end now is fine, workable, drivable. It's a truck, you can upgrade the lights later, if you want, after the truck drives.

  28. That's looking good!

  29. Landing deck?
    Hahaha good one.

Thanks man, your comments about this being a truck keeps me from lowering it more.
"Its a truck, dont be afraid to climb up on it"
    Powerful words bud thanks.

    Thanks mate.

Seth just checking on your progress. Looks great! Keep chipping away! Happy Holidays!
I haven't made any progress this year, I was working some major overtime away from home.
Good for the wallet...bad for progress...
    Take care dude!
