Need to see some motor, as in Roth's other customs.

  6. In an Ed Roth book I have, he say's that car was a failure for that reason... you can't SEE the engine! ;)

Looks stunning! I hope to see it in person myself someday!

  10. Neat resto on a legendary custom! Very nice.

  11. The car has some historical significance, it's story is endearing, and the restoration was top-notch. After walking around that car at the GNRS, I can see why Roth hated it so much. The thing is hideous. I think that it's the only custom that Barris wouldn't have claimed to have built.

  12. I know this is a REALLY old thread, but I stumbled across this while looking for something else and thought it might be useful.

Well, that is worth dragging up this thread IMO. Any idea what date the ad was? or is it just a pic from the net?

  14. Unfortunately it's just a random find; the web site (a blog) didn't have any information about the ad. :( Looks kinda Hot Rod Marketplace-ish.

  15. It looks like the restored version is sitting about 8" too high....

There's a guy in town by me that has a some Roth cars. I love driving by and catching the overhead doors open. I have heard that some thing has come up though and he's forced to sell em. I wish I could have gotten to hang out in that shop.

I counted 19 words (not including seller info)...looks like Hot Rod Marketplace to me.

  18. I wonder if there are any El Paso HAMBers who might know Mr. Apodaca -- or the address -- and could get more information/stories.

    C'mon....of course he would!

    No doubt.

Newton's original rendering was killer, the actual car(?)....not so much. Still neat, still fun, but just not the level of Ed's other cars.

  20. I posted this to the HAMB a long time ago. I scanned it out of the classifieds in the back of an old HOT ROD magazine. I can't remember which issue and I have too many to go looking again...

Mr. Apodaca owns/owned Apodaca Bail Bonds and they used to provide their services to people in the pharmaceutical business.
