Disingauaging flathead 3speed trans?????

    I just put in a new used 3speed with OD and its stuck in overdrive.it wont go in reverse and will break if you force it.ive tried driveing around fipping my toggle switch to get it out of OD but still wont.needs some help getting out of OD
     
  2. Sounds like the solenoid is stuck; either it still has power applied, or is physically stuck internally.

    If its stuck internally is there anyway to get off

    Have you tried pulling the Lock-out handle ?
     

  5. To remove the solenoid, there's two bolts. Take out the bolts and pull on the solenoid; if it comes out, it was installed wrong and/or the shift pawl is damaged. If it won't come out, rotate it 90 degrees and it should now pull out. Check the solenoid for proper operation. If it works and was installed right, the damage is internal and the trans will have to be disassembled.

    A common mistake when putting the solenoid on a BW OD. If you just bolt it on, it engages and won't disengage. As said above, you have to line up the flats with the internal slot, then rotate the solenoid 90 degrees and bolt it down.

    That's what it was.wasn't lined up inside.thanks for the help
