Does anybody have pics of Model A's with 49-51 Merc wheels? Tried a search, didn't really come up with any. I have a clean set, just up in the air with them. I have no tires on them, so I can't really just try them. Thanks guys! Boz

  2. Just remember that if you have original mechanical brakes you need an adapter or you need to modify the drums/hubs.

That's already handled. Currently have 16" solids on there with the correct spacers.

roll them up to the side and block them up the same height as the wheel on the car. Stand back and it will look like the wheel is mounted. Other than that just hope someone else is running them.

Lol! Thinking they'd need a hub cap for sure.

I think they look better than those silly looking 20" conestoga wagon wheels the young crowd likes.

No pictures for you but there was a KILLER little '29 roadster pick up at the Grand National Roadster show in January in one of the buildings. Light gray in color. Merc rims and caps looked beautiful on it. In my opinion, they'll work!!

Maybe chrome, no caps and white walls.

I was meaning without caps or wheel covers.

They look great with a good cap, just like most ugly wheels...

Mostly I'm just ribbing Lowbuckboz because I met him over the weekend and I know he can take it.

Chrome would look pretty cool actually.

Hello Lowbuckboz. I was going to run mechanical brakes with solids. You mentioned you had the adapters/spacers sorted. Did you fabricate these or buy a set? They seem ridiculously expensive from the suppliers I've seen. Cheers -Ed

  15. If memory serves me correctly the Merc wheels have a larger center-section than others. By that I mean only the Merc center cap will fit as it is wider than other Ford hub caps.

I like the look though. Not a thing wrong with it in my book.

I made my own spacers. I didn't know anybody offered them recently. Cheaper to make your own if you can!

I'd have to take one off. I don't have any pics of them currently. I'll have to take a wheel off.

I haven't had time yet to yank a wheel off. I will.
